Pet Smart
Just a simple question; what age are the bps "generally" when they are sold at Pet Smart (ie, when they come into the store)?

Re: Pet Smart
When I bought my pied from them, the salesperson said he was around 6-8 months but looked more like 2-3 months. They may not know the age and only guess.

They have no idea about the age of their animals. They'll tell you anything to make a sale.

Re: Pet Smart
They tell us (former employee) 3 months. For every single animal. They are young, that's about all I know. They don't tell the employees that information when they ship the snakes. You would have to track down the seller, and they probably have a big enough operation that they don't remember/care. Its unfortunate, but you can't fault the employees. If they tell you the wrong age its because they have bad information.

Off topic, but...
Would it really kill Pet Smart (and the others) if they did business a little more honestly? Sad.

Not sure I want to go here, but I'll go ahead and bite. What about the company do you see as dishonest?

I was more curious than hating. My friends bp is so small, I just wanted to know his (and others at the store) approximate age.

Probably only a month old

Re: Pet Smart
We bought our girl from Pet Smart and was told by one employee she was approx. 3 months and then I found out from a former employee she had been there for a year. The original employee was honest in saying they don't know the ages when they come in. Just makeup a birthday and go from there - judge by the size and or weight.

I don't see anything, but others apparently do.

No I get you weren't but as you see, the second a big box store is mentioned it quickly turns into blasting them. It's pretty much a daily occurrence at this point.

Re: Pet Smart
Maybe its just the one in my area, but PetSmart has always been reliable and a good experience for me. I've bought multiple animals from there, including my ball python. 3 years ago, I purchased 2 guinea pigs from there and to this day they're still healthy and have never had one health problem.
I'm very happy with my baby ball python. He has never tagged me(or anyone else), eats every week and didn't come with any illnesses like an RI or IBD. His age was correct(they had records) and he wasn't skinny when I got him.
Just my opinion c:
