Eight egg clutch! What's your largest clutch so far?
Eight eggs is my largest clutch so far this season. Hopefully I'll have some break double digits later this year! What's your largest clutch so far?

My biggest clutch ever was 7! Hope to hit double digits later this year. :)

So I got hooked into this whole breeding thing back in 2011. My first clutch ever was 12 perfect eggs. The pairing was my Pastel Yellowbelly male to a Huge normal female. The results were 1.1 Yellowbelly, 2.3 Pastels and 0.5 Pastel Yellowbelly. Not a normal in the bunch. I've actually had 12 eggs on 3 occasions from 2 different girls.

I just had a 11 egg clutch today!

Thanks everyone for the responses! I forgot to ask in the initial question, how old are the females that produce your largest clutch? Everyone always talks about size but in my experience- genetics, feeding, and age play such an important role in clutch size! My best producing females are 7-10+yrs old and can produce 7 to 10 or more eggs several years in a row.

My Enchi girl that gave me 11 last year was her first clutch ever - she hatched in January 2013. The big normal girl that gave me 11 last year is at least 8 years old.

Oh well scratch that 11
13 Good eggs from one of my very first female, my pied project founder a 2006 Het Pied female who usually weighs in at 3800/4000 grams.
Egg average 102 grams each.

My biggest was 10. Last year 8. Same female, it was her first years breeding. She was 2 last year and now 3. Wanna say she was 2500 grams or so before laying this year. Last year she was 1800 something.

When I first started breeding (in 1999) I got a female from some crackhead kid who didnt want her anymore. Couldnt even tell me how old she was. Big girl "Hermione" was sweet as pie. When I first got her she was 1800 g. A few years later at about 3800-4200g she laid 12 good eggs and one slug for me. That was the biggest clutch I ever had.

Re: Eight egg clutch! What's your largest clutch so far?
Hey Doc,
I just had a 4200 gram 15 year old normal drop a 14 (one slug) egg clutch, she has clutched for me 10 years in a row and has produced well over 100 babies.
I have found that heavy feeding during the breeding season and reaching that perfect confirmation is the biggest factor when it comes to average clutch size, this year we're on track to drop several double digit clutches. The average eggs per clutch so far this season is 7 and I hope to see that number grow to 8 or 9 eggs per clutch by the end of this year. I have another double digit clutch due to drop from a 2000 gram female in the next few days, I palpated 12 eggs in her, but she is so full that I can't really tell, she's about ready to explode. My first year females have averaged 7 eggs per clutch and one of them my double visual pied clown just dropped an 8 egg clutch, the only negative to the story is that 4 of the 8 eggs were slugs.
Here is a link to the video showing the 14 egg clutch and a few others.

I hope everyone is having a great season.

Thanks for sharing Brian! Looks like you will have a great season this year! I've been so busy lately I haven't had enough time to film lockups/eggs. Looking forward to all your hatchlings!

Had a 2012 female lay 9 eggs this year. It was her first clutch, she was pushing 2800g.

Hey Doc,
I just dropped my second 14 egg clutch of the season, just like the first 14 egg clutch there was one slug.
So far this season I've dropped 16 clutches and the average count per clutch is 8 eggs, I'm very happy with this seasons results so far.
I hope all is well.

My very firts clutch was of 10. That female laid 9 the next year and has not produced since, like 3 or 4 years ago.
