How do you know (yellow bellies)
I just got this little lady and she's a yellow belly. I can somewhat see the yellow but with all the different kinds of normals out there, how do you know without breeding ?

I find she looks a lot with another of my normals....

Except the alien shapes and spectling inside them, I don't really see the difference ? Can't seem to find a belly shot, but it is white.

Two last shots are in fluorescent lights while the others are ambient light.

The name Yellow Belly is a bit of a misnomer. Here is a good reference to use to help become more familiar with this morph:

I am also under the impression that its not a yellowbelly. I generally see far more speckling on the belly of mine and a noticeable difference in the patterning on the animal.

IMO the animal you posted is clearly NOT a yellowbelly. Some yellowbellies have a "yellow" belly and some do not, however they all have a distinct checkering along the sides of the belly. The snake you posted does not have anywhere near the amount of checkering you would expect to see in a yellowbelly.

Thanks for the info guys! I'm not too bummed she might not be yellow belly, was more interested in getting a female to add to my male's "harem". Will cross my finger she's something when she's ready to breed...

Its been said but I also agree not a yellowbelly. Its a gene I work with the most. Not a big deal unless you paid for a yellowbelly female.

This is the second snake I get "caught" on. I did buy her because she was female, but cost more because yellow belly :/

I need a guide on figuring out all the morphs xP

Did you get this from a breeder?

No, but as of right now I only got 2 of my 10 snakes for "reputed breeders" and only got what I wanted from one of them. All the others came from people letting go of their breeding stock or peeps on the local herp groups on facebook. There's not much on choice over here :/
