Lazy Ball?

i was wondering if anyone else has a Bp like me..... mine only comes out of her hide for maybe like 2hrs a day..... and most of that time is to bask and then the rest is cruisin around the cage....

hahah..... thats just normal ball python behavior :)

Sounds pretty much like our baby BP, cruises out of the warm hide, maybe stops for a drinky poo, cruises into the cool hide....occasionally checks out a few cage decorations....pretty much it all in all.

Hey I wanna be a Ball Python in my next life...sounds like a good deal!

same to report here - he tends to go in cycles. He's usually pretty lazy but some nights he is out and about! (Usually the night before I feed him) Good ol' BP's always showing us that no matter how much time we watch TV - there's a whole new level of lazy out there.

Link sometimes doesn't even come out of his rock hide. When he does it's usually because he is hungry.

2hrs a day? i'm lucky if Trigger comes out for 2 hrs a WEEK unless i TAKE him out. i almost NEVER see him cruisin around on his own volition, and i'm a night owl.... i mean, right now i'm making this post at 3:15am. usually i'm in bed right now, but i was just watching Trigger cruise his tank cuz, like i said, he's NEVER out. the only reason why he was out just now was cuz i took him out for a couple minutes & "woke his lazy butt up"

some bps are cruisers some are not. one of my girls did not come out of her hide at all for the first 6 months i had her but now she is out and about every night. i'd like to hide in a dark place all day and come out at night to cruise too. ;)

All of mine are out, usually every night, cruising around their tanks.
If your BPs are not out nightly; are their temperatures right? I think it's pretty normal for them to come out every night. But I have noticed, that those in shed do not tend to come out much even at night.

i think a lot of it also has to do with how comfortable they are in their surroundings and also how old they are. youngers bps tend to be more shy so they hide more. if you haven't had your bp for very long they are still adjusting and may hide. one of my new females hasn't shown her pretty little face for me at all but she is very young and i have only had for a little over a week. on the other had i recently got a more mature female and she was out and about and not shy at all right from the start.

my male (one year old apperatnly) comes out all the time even in the day time
my female(an 04 hatchling) doesnt come out that often ... shes still kind of new

Issa (male, about 10 months old?) usually cruises his cage at night. I've seen him drink several times. If he's in shed, that's when he hides. He's taking 2 mice now, so he's spending a bit more time in his hides digesting, but otherwise, he typically comes out and cruises. If he's hungry, he is definately out looking around. I've noticed he's has been curious about new arrivals. He can't get anywhere near them, but he can smell them.

Since he's started spending most of the time in his NERD humid hide (as opposed to his rock one), he does a lot more of poking his head out to see what's going on, and then jerking his head back in very quickly.

He's been a cruiser most of the time I've had him. I've also never seen him coil up in a ball.

Yep may be a comfort/safety thing, especially in younger BP's. We've had Baby just over a week now and she (or he) is just starting to come out a wee bit in the late evening. We have her in a quiet back room but in our house nowhere is totally quiet LOL so she either comes out once the kid's are mostly in bed or just because it's night time. She doesn't "cruise" much yet. Mostly just comes out of the hide...has a nose around and then settles in, either on top of her hide or her rock or under her rock arch.

If we approach tho she isn't startled and just sort of stares back at us. We aren't handling her much yet. Personally I think it's a great life LOL...hang out and be as lazy as you want and have these nice human servants to tend your every need. :)

Never see him, he might pop out once every couple of weeks to look for food and this tells me he is hungry, otherwise he does not bother to eat. Can't be bothered to do anything but sleep, thinks he is hidden just because his head is covered.... Keeps falling off things, even when he eats, you have to put the mouse in his mouth.... any more idol and I will have to push it down for him... He is in very good health, poos and sheds perfectly.... but he is just a lasy b*****d reptile but I love him... He has his own profile on Facebook if anyone wants to be his friend. His name is charlie fisher (the wifes idea)......

Anyone got one that lazy??????
