Hypo Lesser?
Hey Guys, Recently got my First Ball Python (i have been been planning and researching for a couple years :) finally made the plunge!) So i found a girl at a breeder close to me, i absolutely fell in love and got her. The breeder Said she is a "Hypo Lesser" But i cannot find much info on that Morph, is there a different name for it at all? I am curious to see what i might be able to breed her too in the future to make anything really cool!
Cheers!!

Hypo/Ghost or Orange Ghost is one in the same.
That is a 2 gene animal and the ghost is recessive so should you plan on breeding her and want more visual hypos then the male should be a visual or het at the least.
Good looking little girl.
There are a lot of things that Lesser makes look better.
Check out World of Ball Pythons.

Know the risk you are taking before you attempt that cross. I am not saying not to, just know what can happen. Safer to cross with mojave if you just want a blue eyed white snake.

I would avoid lesser x lesser, many super lessers have eye issues. I'd suggest lesser x mojave.

I have lesser x lesser clutch incubating right now due to pipe on June 17th. I have read the risk of lesser x lesser crossing, and many ppl have no problems. The bug eye issuse can happen. I know ppl who have had bug eyed hatchlings that grow into their eyes so to speak and look perfectly normal and are prestine white. Mojave Bels can look dirty and not bright white. I will let you know the outcome.

If you breed a lesser to a mojave you get beautiful BELs, just as nice as super lessers without the risk. The eye issues with super lessers are not rare. In my experience and breeders I've spoken with the eye problems are actually common. I produced a few the first year I tried for super lessers, two were bug eyed and the one that looked perfect developed eye issues after being shipped.

The point is to make someone aware of the possible problem.
Mojave X Mojave gives you a grey headed BEL
Lesser X Mojave gives you a....... Well you judge my little girl.:rofl::rofl:

Re: Hypo Lesser?
I have to agree with Dave and some others avoid lesser x lesser, most breeders I know are upfront and do not recommend it either especially since there is a safe alternative to it (lesser x mojave)
Sure you can take the risk and than if you have bug eye hatchlings I am sure someone will take them of your hands for free but what is the point of producing less than perfect animals.
