Looks like a nice pastel :)
Super pastels heads are usually more blushed out.

Ok was just trying to help out someone. The pairing was 1.0 Bumblebee and 0.1 Ruppel pastel if that even makes a difference. It was labeled as a super and the yellow in the pattern is a lot brighter in person than in the pic. I'm still learning genetics so I'm not very good at identifying things. The head and pattern looks more blushed in person as well but its still not nearly as blushed as my super but I didn't know if the blushing was a 100% thing in all supers.

When you see a super there is no confusion between them.

So someone threw their name on a pastel again? LoL
    Pastel is a pastel.

    Pastel is a pastel.

A guy I work with has the snake in the picture and I told him before he even bought it 2 months ago that I thought it was just pastel and I also let him see my super pastel for comparison and it didn't even come close. But since morphs and genetics is something I'm still learning he had his doubts in me and trusted the breeder. The breeder discounted it so he bought it for the price of a pastel.

How would you complain to a breeder about a pastel labeled as a super pastel priced as a pastel? Lol...he didn't get ripped off he just didn't get the deal he thought

Tell him to breed it, there should not e any normal in the clutch. ;)

You don't show a top shot, is there any blushing on the back pattern?
Not all supers have the really washed out head but most do and it's the easiest tell-tale sign.
I have a super with tons of body blushing but with just her head, it would be hard to tell (I trust the breeder).
Personally, based on the photos, I'd say that one is a pastel.

Is he wanting to get money back? If he's happy with the deal regardless, he could make a statement that he doesn't see it as a super, ask the breeder why they think it is, ask for pictures of the entire clutch and parents (to prove the parents are what he said they were and to compare to the littermates).

    Re: Pastel or Super Pastel?
So I sent an email to the breeder for the guy I work with and this was the response.....

I can assure you he is a super pastel. When he hatched out he looked like any other super pastel you will see. His mother is a ruppel pastel which is an usual darker looking pastel so I figured he would darken up more than other super pastels.

:colbert: Still don't see a super.
The Ruppels on WOB don't look any "darker" or different than any other pastel.

Then there is only one way for him to find out for sure I guess, going to have to prove it...who knows maybe we will all be surprised!

    Re: Pastel or Super Pastel?
I'm not seeing Super Pastel at all in the that Pastel.

When it come to the Ruppel part, since the pairing that produced this Pastel was Bumblebee X Ruppel Pastel, it can't be called a pure Ruppel anymore.

The picture you just posted is not a Super Pastel either. These are a Super Pastel and Pastel I hatched out a couple of years ago. The really washed out one if the Super Pastel.

This picture I just posted was freakie_frogs and he said it was a super and showed it on top of his regular pastel as well. I seen your post in the same thread.

You may want to re-read what Freakie posted. The photo you re-posted is a pastel at 200 grams and then he shows her as an adult with a super to compare. At least that's how I read it.

Yep your right! Didn't catch the here is mom part. I wish I could see the super that's on top of mom better. It doesn't seem to have a very washed out head and the white blushing is similar to my friends that I posted. But its hard to see
I'm just trying to see if there's any possible way my friends is a super but I can't give him any sort of sign except for a little white blushing. Also as my friends gets older and every time he sheds his yellow gets brighter. I pretty much told him that the only way to tell would be to breed and I think you will be disappointed in the results.

I don't see that even being a bad quality super. It looks like what I would expect from a typical pastel though.

I'll toss a couple of my pastels in for you to take a look at to compare. There is a ton of variation among patterns and to an extent, color in pastels
You could breed that one to try to prove it out, but I really don't think that it would.

1000g+ female Pastel. She's starting to darken up now, but she's kept quite a bit of yellow and has a lot of blushing.

My big 2000g+ male Pastel. He's got an insane amount of blushing, and high white sides, but still just a pastel.

"Jungle" pastel male. Lots of yellow on the sides in particular, not so much blushing. About 1500g

Some pastels and super pastels can look similar (as you can see here- I keep forgetting which is which until I look at their tags lol) but I've never seen a super pastel without some nice blushing and that one doesn't have the signs. It's a really pretty pastel though!
