Interesting Mix Up with Royal Constrictor Designs
So I had originally bought a stingerbee male from Garreck DeMeyer. This snake was intended as a pet only, so I chose him based on aesthetics- I liked the look...
This morning we finally got our noodle in the mail after waiting patiently a WHOLE WEEK to make sure we had the terrarium set up right. Excitedly open the box to see our first snake AND... He's a she and a Super Pastel :) oopsie!
I'm not upset or anything. Like I said, I chose the stingerbee based on aesthetics, the young lady is also beautiful and I think I'll keep her! My question is; does anyone here know if the super pastels fade badly? She's pretty now, but will she stay that way?
I'm not big in the snake scene, I've done tons of research on care and whatnot... But morphs? Not so much. I chose based strictly on the prettiness factor! Insight would be much MUCH appreciated!!
Side note- I still recomend Garreck DeMeyer highly. He was super responsive and helpful in my buying process and I acknowledge that mistakes happen. I haven't seen a single bad review on him and I don't intend to change that!!

I'm guessing you contacted him incase you accidentally got someone else's snake? She'll fade some but they're still pretty. Pictures or it didn't happen! :P

I would get them to fix it since you still haven't gotten the one you chose. Super pastels still brown out like pastels but not as much.

I agree with the others. You should ask to be sent the snake you chose. After all, it is what appealed to you when your choices were wide open. Why settle for something else, especially as a pet? The other side is the snake you received may have already been committed to another purchaser and in fairness to them, they should be allowed to complete their transaction as well.
I will not name names. But once I had inquired about a snake and was trying to arrange for purchase when the Seller just went silent for an extended period of time. A couple weeks at least. It turned out he had some life things happening, but made no excuses, and in fact sent me the snake we had been discussing free of charge, including shipping. I think that epitomizes Customer Service.
Now if Garreck wanted to offer you something by way of compensation for your trouble I believe it would be good business and it shouldn't be frowned upon.

My first thought as well is that the boxes got mixed up and someone else is not as happy as you....

That was my first thought as well. Someone was waiting for their super pastel female and ended up with a male they didn't want. I'd be pretty upset.

Oh, no no! Don't misunderstand. I contacted him immediately and he got a hold of the person who's snake got mixed up with mine! I guess she was thrilled to keep the stingerbee, if I wanted to keep the Super Pastel- apparently she, I'm guessing because she's female, is worth more than the male I purchased. But that is not coming out of my pocket and I'm assuming the other lady is handling her side of it with DeMeyer.
I suppose at this point we've decided to keep her, we grow attached quickly and she is a pretty little thing. I guess even if she doesn't hold her color as well as the other snake, we'll enjoy her the same. The seller also promised to work with us in the future if we get another, and I know around here.. people say these guys are like potato chips :)
I swear I'd give a picture if I knew how!!

I was just speaking to Garrick last night about some animals i purchased back in 2012. He asked me to send him the pics i had and the hatch dates. Didnt have the hatch dates, but he said he would look at it and get back to me in a email the next day. Suffice it to say he got back to me the following day. He is definitely the real deal! He will make a situation right. :gj:

I purchased an Albino Pastel male from Garrick 1 year ago. The snake is doing great and I couldn't say enough good things about Garrick and Royal Constrictor Designs. Wonderful to do business with!
Your snake is beautiful!

She's so tiny and gorgeous!! I have a soft soft for super pastels since I own one too. Mine is a little over 1 1/2 ears olds and she hasn't faded too much. They stay relatively bright!
0.1 Super pastel

I've got a super pastel girl... she's getting brighter, rather than fading or browning, but she's also still quite young - I'm guessing 8/9 months or so - which means that she has plenty of time to change that trend. Lovely snake you have!

Thanks you guys! I feel like an overeager child. I just wanna touch her!! But everything I've read says wait til she's eaten first. ...so I wait...

Had our first, brief handling session last night :) I could tell she wasn't very comfortable, so I put her back pretty quick. Still thinking of names at this point...

Beautiful little mix-up you've got there! :) Pastels do tend to brown out a bit as they age, as a general rule, but quality animals will not brown out nearly as much, and should retain color better further down their sides. You got a quality girl - I would guess she'll age well!

Garrick is a great guy and great for the hobby. I don't think I could possibly say anything bad about him, he will go out of his way to help you out.

Lmao. I hadn't thought of that. I probably should!
I definitely don't regret the mix up at all. Except, now no one will understand my username, hah!

Thanks! I gotta wear fake ones, or I'll chew my real ones.
I understand how terrible a habit that is. :)
