What kind of Python Morph do I have??
    Hello,
I got my beautiful girl back in November and was told that she was a Black Pastel Spider. Since I got her though I have been taking a look at all the different types of pythons and to me she doesn't really look anything like a spider or a black pastel. I was hoping to get some help in either confirming what I was told or finding out what kind of morph she really is??

By the pics. I don't see a spider head. Does it warble a bit. The pattern doesn't look black pastel to me. It looks almost like an axanthic. But it is hard to see from the pics.

Google 'Black Bee Ball Python', and you'll find a few that look like her. 'Black Bee' is a 'Black Pastel + Spider'. The Black Pastel and Spider combined, to me, don't really look anything like Black Pastel or Spider alone. I have a Black Widow - Black Pastel, Pastel, and Spider combined, and he resembles her, other than also having a yellow flush on his sides from the pastel.

Not it doesn't really. I'll try to post a few more pics. Maybe that will help. Thank you

I looked the black bee up and couldn't find any that really looked like her. Same markings but not the color. Nice to know you have something similar tho. Thank you!

You have to sort through the search results. Most of what Google returns are not Black Bee Ball Pythons. Here's an example of one that is:

Oh yes! The markings are definitely the same except for the stripe from the head. Does that come from the spider gene?

You mean the stripe going down the back from the neck? That will vary from snake to snake. Here's a photo of Zyali, my Black Widow boy, for comparison:

My pleasure! Your girl is gorgeous. Zyali seems to get more yellow on his sides every week, so I'm curious how he'll turn out ultimately.

Thank you! And I bet! He's probably a neat little guy to watch grow. How old is he now?? Shes my first python but there like an addiction. I want a whole room full!

I got Zyali in September of last year... so I've had him about six and a half months now. He's up to about 475g, and I'm not sure how old he was before then - a tiny little worm. He arrived on 9/2, and my scale didn't arrive until 9/24, so that was his first weigh-in at 105g. He's been on a food strike for the past month, while he protested being switched to rats, so he hasn't gained weight in that time. I'm going to guess that he was a month old or so when I got him, so he'd be maybe eight months old now.

Incidentally, be cautious about Ball Python Addiction. She's your first girl... and I bought Zyali and Miqula at the same time. They were my first Ball Pythons. In six months I went from two to six, and I want more.

Oh that's awesome! I hope he starts to eat again soon. They can be pain in the asses sometimes. I had that problem with my girl when I first got her. She didn't eat for the first 2 months I had her. Finally started eating then had a horrible shed. Took her to the vet and she was dehydrated and to skinny for her age but just worked on her the last 3 weeks and she's all healthy again and eating like a pig.

And that's crazy! LoL I love how you went from 2 to 6 in such a short amount of time! I can't wait to get more. Would even love to maybe breed one day.

I think it probably is a black pastel spider. The spider head pattern doesn't show up with some morphs. I was looking into breeding a cinnamon with a spider and cinna bees all have more normal heads. It seems to be the same way with black bees from what I've found.

http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/black-bee/ The last picture looks like yours I think.
