    Lesser, Maybe?
I recently purchased my first ball python (I've usually kept corns) from a pet store. I named her Gannon. :P My friend, who has always been super into BPs thinks she is a lesser, rather than a regular as the pet store had her listed. He belly is also completely white. Opinions?

    Not a pastel either.

Nothing wrong with a nice normal though!

I wanted to wait until some of the more experienced keepers responded. I've only looked at pictures and videos online, it looks like a nice light normal to me.

Your friend may be super into BPs, but has a lot to learn about morphs. There is nothing about this snake that remotely suggests lesser. Congrats on your new snake.

Yeah, im definitely no expert. I'd been finding its coloration confusing for a while. I see a lot of pictures and videos of similarly colored animals being tagged as lessers. Thank you for your input. :]

well, you two just keep hanging around BP.net, you'll learn a lot. also, visit the classifieds at BP.net, fauna classifieds and morph market to see plenty examples of the morphs. while there are occasional exceptions, snakes are rarely sold as something less than they are. it's the reverse that you need to be aware of, snakes being sold as something they're not. an understanding of the morphs will prevent you from being victimized by this.
