    Albino Darwins
Last August we picked up a couple of b-e-a-uuuutiful albino darwins, a boy and a girl (possibly same father, different mothers for sure) and they are just getting better as they get bigger. They've tripled in weight, have lovely temperaments (though the boy is a runner, gotta keep two hands on him at all times!) and I'm just overall impressed with these snakes - didn't think I'd enjoy anything as much as the BPs. Wanted to share just a couple of pics - the boy is very yellow, the girl is lighter, though she has a lot of that "blacklight yellow" on her... we really need to get a blacklight, I bet she'd look like a rave! XD

Beautiful carpets A. I love their display attributes and semi arboreal nature. It's like night and day between carpets and BPs IMO.

Those are gorgeous snakes right there! :tongue2:

I'd have to say that the Aussie snakes are my favorite. They are never boring when out and about. And as Zig said, they are better display snakes.

@ AL- From what I've read (pg. 91 of The Complete Carpet Python) Darwins average 1.5-2m (4.9-6.6 ft) with the largest specimen recorded at 3.1m (10.2 ft).

^ that's about right. Hubby and I both love the IJs too (shortest of the carpets), and he's keen on the Coastals... but I'm not too keen on anything that gets larger than 12 ft!! These are going to stay pretty, and reeeelatively small. :)

a 12 ft coastal is like an 8 ft human, yeah, it happened a couple times. it would be rare to see one much over 9 ft.

    very nice Darwins.
