The King of Kings
Well I am finally Getting the Mexican Black King Snake, I have been searching for 1 year and they sale out quick , Hit pay dirt To night lol I had a friend that had one and he was like a puppy dog very friendly and personable. :snake:
-
Good for you.
Are they difficult to breed, or something?
I've noticed the same with black milk snakes - one of the coolest things out there, and only heard good things about them from their keepers...yet, you can never find any!
Obviously, keep us updated.:)

Re: The King of Kings
They sell real fast, I don't know about the breeding sol ? Ill know by noon Im reading a Great Book I bought at Amazon for my ever growing Library in the Clouds. And if any one here has experience with these 2 snakes please chime in.

Good pick up ! Mine is also super friendly but I've read reports that some can be feisty ... Maybe we got lucky !
He's a pyscho at feeding time , though as all my Kings are ( apart from the King x Milk hybrid weirdly ) .

I have a black milk very laid back friendly snake. She hasn't completed her color change yet but she's getting there slowly! She's been getting thick recently too. I don't keep her on any heat just room temperature for her. My room is anywhere from 70 to 78 depending on the weather.
-
Nice. I finally have 1.1 MBKs too. :gj::gj:
-
I have a Cal. King - and he's pretty mellow. Certainly not black, though! He's a high-yellow albino.
-
i see baby MBK's alot at shows. every other table has them, all colubrid tables have them.
i have a baby Black Honduran Milk Snake. he's banding is currently black, grayish-whitish and purplish-pinkish. but he's apparently supposed turn all black eventually as an adult i think. i'll try to take pix. :)

Clearly this thread won't be complete without pictures ;)

I don't think your guy is going to turn black. I've never heard of a Honduran that does that and he looks like an anery to me. I like that morph and have debated buying one but I have a love for the hypo tangerines:)
My black milk. She hasn't completed her color change yet and you can see the red in her still.

Yeah I'm no expert on the milks or kings that's for sure! These two are my only ones with an addition of a hypo tangerine in the future but overall I'm not a huge milk or king fan. I love the rat snakes and have a lot of those hanging around in my collection.

Here's my Cal. King boy, Tsoss. High Yellow Albino. It's hard to get pictures of him, because he hardly ever stops moving. He shed about ten minutes before the photos, and the pictures were in fairly rapid sequence, to suggest how long it took him to figure out the little apple tree and head for the ground.

Those three are natural light, no flash. And back in his tub, he thought maybe it was dinner time. This one is artificial light, with a flash. It actually shows his white coming in better. He's just over a year old.

Oh, and that spot on his back that you can see in the last photo isn't a mite, or anything like that. Normally I give him f/t, but I thought I'd offer him a live weanling - and it bit him. It's a clean wound, and healing well.
-
this is Hotdog, my lil Corn Snake with the attitude. lol she's thinking about biting me again. (she only tries to bite when u pick her up; once handled, she's just squirmy, not bitey.)

that's why so many people think they are "garden snakes", not garter snakes. I think I've heard that mistake at least a 100 times.
