    What is this Craigslist BP?
I can't tell but it looks cool. Any insights? The closest thing I can think of is lesser black pastel/cinnamon? But I'm not sure. It also has some fading that I don't really know is a good thing or not, haha

This is the only pic they have of it.

    Pewter is my first thought.
    What is it advertised as?

The guy selling it doesn't know. I asked him at like 3 today and he finally got back to me and said he's asked people and been told different things. He's not being very forthcoming so I'm thinking I should probably skip this one...

I don't see lesser .. black pastel possibly .... How much is he asking? No picture of the head .. he can't provide more pictures .. he doesn't know what it is ... Those three reasons alone would make me walk and not look back

I thought pewters were gray, and this one is really yellow looking so I just didn't think of pewter as being a possibility. Now that I look though I can see it. I'm still not very experienced with morphs so I tried googling different combos and going through google images, haha. Needle in a haystack. But yeah I am going to skip it, he seems to have no idea what he has or how to sell animals.

He wants offers /: so I guess he really has no idea what genes he has. And yeah I asked for pictures and he said he was at work. I'm like, why wouldn't he have multiple pictures of the animals he's selling on his phone? He also had a normal-looking one and a lemonblast.

Red flag red flag walk away. This guy is either a scammer, a flipper, or a thief selling stolen goods. Desist engaging.

Heh... I find this kind of funny, because I don't have pictures of any of my snakes on my phone. But then, I don't use a smartphone. However, even if I were selling one, there wouldn't be any pictures on my phone.

I see. That's a little different from how I operate...

also looks like a pewter to me. I think the yellow tone is just the photo. I threw this into photoshop, auto level for color adjustment and this looks much more classic silver pewter

Man, that makes a world of difference. I think my eyes were assuming that fabric next to it was green. Thanks for that!

Sometimes it's hard to walk away from a animal for sale that is really screaming at you. Even if the seller has no clue to the true genetics of the animal. But the red flags should go up in that case and you should assume there will be other issues that will arise with the animal. Health issues mainly or something else unforeseen. Buy from someone who has the exact info on what they are selling. This way you will be more likely to be satisfied. There are quite a few breeders with exceptional pewters that will back up what they sell and have all the pertinent information on the animal.

    Pretty snake after those adjustments!

But yeah, another one for "this guy is sketchy". Pewters are pretty common so if that's what you're looking for, finding a nice one shouldn't be a hassle. Good luck!

I also think it looks like a pewter, especially with the color shift in the photos.

Since it's a local face-to-face sale where you can put hands on the snake before buying it I would take a look if I was in the market for that morph, so I could also check for mites, RI, etc. I wouldn't send funds and risk having the animal shipped with this type of buyer.

I also really don't have tons of pictures on my phone of my snakes. There's some but I don't always have a photo of something handy on it.

One quick trick I've used in the past is to google something like "pewter ball python" images, pick the first one with an item in the picture and then request the seller take a photo with that item. So if it's a coke can, you ask for a shot of the snake with a coke can. If they are a lazy scammer with no snake, they'll grab the first photo on google they see with the item. Easy catch.

If the seller doesn't know what he has, doesn't give a price, then I would back off and leave it. There's way too many super nice snakes for sale from good breeders.

I don't necessarily 'have' snake pictures on my phone, but they are all uploaded to Google photos, so I can access them anywhere through the phone app.
