Re: Honduran Fire Belly Boa Breeders (thats a mouthful)
they are very beautiful snakes and they dont get as big as other BCIs. i would definately try to obtain one of those if I could. geez...imagine the albinos that bci would produce.

Re: Honduran Fire Belly Boa Breeders (thats a mouthful)
:omg: Looks like Kara and Kevin's next vacation trip needs to be to Honduras! :bounce:

Re: Honduran Fire Belly Boa Breeders (thats a mouthful)
i definately have to agree with marla. :)
if these animals were readily available, i think they would sell great. A beautiful bci that gets about 6 ft long. I know I would have to buy some.

Darn skippy!!! :D
I'd recommend getting in touch with Dennis Sargent down in FL...I know he was breeding these boas for quite a while, and he may still be working with them. Dennis is a top-notch guy with excellent animals. He's on the board of directors with the Central Florida Herp Society, so I'd imagine they'd be able to put you in touch with him. HTH!

Re: Honduran Fire Belly Boa Breeders (thats a mouthful)
According to the link, Dennis sold his all off after just two clutches when he moved to Florida. Now wouldn't it be sweet if that were wrong and he's still breeding them? Just in case, I can hook ya up with a travel agent and an interpreter Kara. ;)

Re: Honduran Fire Belly Boa Breeders (thats a mouthful)
For a long time that was the only boa I really really liked. (silly me, I like snow boas...figures, I like the $5k snake :P ) I'd like to see somebody breeding them again. It's too bad dennis couldn't keep breeding when he got his new job.

Re: Honduran Fire Belly Boa Breeders (thats a mouthful)
Definitely double check with Dennis. For some reason I seem to remember him having some @ Daytona last year. Then again...that could have just been the culmination of a hurricane, sleep deprivation & an obscene amount of alcohol...
Well, if nothing else, he may be able to point you in the right direction or put you in touch with folks who purchased his & are possibly producing them now.

BUMP
This is over three years old.....any new news!!!!!?????
boa-constrictors.com says they have two babies available, are they the only ones doing these?
-
Re: Honduran Fire Belly Boa Breeders (thats a mouthful)
Not sure but it looks like this guy may do them www.cuttingedgeherp.com, I am not familiar with him but he shows breeding them in the past

Re: Honduran Fire Belly Boa Breeders (thats a mouthful)
That pic is from Vin Russo's book 'the complete boa constrictor'
under Roatan Island boas....
-
Re: Honduran Fire Belly Boa Breeders (thats a mouthful)
Because that is where they are from :D
-
Re: Honduran Fire Belly Boa Breeders (thats a mouthful)
I know....I was just saying you might look for breeders of Roatan Is. locality boas....'fire belly' was a marketing term used by Dennis that may not be used universally :)

Ahhhh now your ways are clear to me.

Re: Honduran Fire Belly Boa Breeders (thats a mouthful)
I should have spoken my complete thought originally....I'm posting shorthand today for some reason :)

Re: Honduran Fire Belly Boa Breeders (thats a mouthful)
Vin Russo does have a breeding pair, but they are sold out for a few years. One heck of a waiting list! Fire bellies are their nickname and it holds still.

Re: Honduran Fire Belly Boa Breeders (thats a mouthful)
I have what is believe to be a 'fire Belly'
She was a one off in a clutch from a Wild caught BCI too a wild caught BCI so we think she is a throw back of the 'Fire belly'
The same pair have since been bred back to each other with no results. She is currently gravid too my Pastel male, i dont think i will see any results in the clutch but i do think if i breed the litter together or back too the mother then we will have it!

Re: Honduran Fire Belly Boa Breeders (thats a mouthful)
:gj:Wow that boa has the hottest belly I've ever seen.

Re: Honduran Fire Belly Boa Breeders (thats a mouthful)
There's actually a bit of a dispute over locale if I remember correctly, but I guess that's neither here nor there since this thread is on finding some. I know a few people who have them, but are not breeding them yet.

Those are not "firebelly's" but they are very pretty nonetheless.
