    Things happen.
I wasn't seriously planning on getting any new snakes soon but the empty enclosure syndrome got the best of me. I told my girl I wouldn't take up any more space just maximize the space I'm currently using. She didn't put up a fuss so it looks like I'll be adding a 2015 male Bredli carpet python in about 2 weeks. I have to order a few supplies and butter up the Queen B a little more. Many thanks and a huge shout out to Nick Mutton at Inland Reptile. A great guy and one of, if not the best in the business of Morelia. Here's a breeder pic. I'll post more when he arrives and settles in.

Thanks Reinz. I decided to diversify and expand my Morelia addiction. :)

Nice. Bredli's the only "common" morelia ssp I've never kept. Been eyeing them for years, but never got around to it. Maybe I should set up a couple empty enclosures for inspiration :)

I second the empty enclosure suggestion Dennis. It'll serve as a good motivator. And you get to work with another awesome Morelia ssp. We'll be Bredli brothers :).

Well you definitely got it from the best place for morelias.

Gorgeous! I love the pattern on these guys, just not my type of snake. I snorted at "things happen" though, story of my life! We added four ferrets yesterday so while I had planned to add another snake this summer I have the feeling my checkbook just went dry.

    Yeah Buddy!

    That's how we do!!

    Great pickup.

    Got me thinking now LOL!

I agree with you. A empty enclosure is a terrible thing to waste. Can't wait to see pictures of him when you get him.

The breeder said it was cool to share pics of my Bredli's parents. He's from the 15-AF2 pairing. If my guy turns out anything like either of his parents I'll be ecstatic. Once again I have to say that Nick Mutton is a first class breeder of fine reptiles. His animals are at the top of the Morelia food chain IMO. I'd highly recommend him to anyone interested in carpets.

    I'll add to this!

I e-mailed him a question not long ago. He gave me his phone number and I think I talked with him about snakes and other interests for two and a half hours. He's a straight up class act with a very deep passion for the snakes he owns and produces.

I have some very, very limited options to acquire another animal, and if I get a green light, Nick is at the top of the list if and when it happens.

He's a gorgeous boy! Much redder than my girl (unknown bloodline). Hopefully getting him young he'll skip some of the jumpy nippy behavior mine went through - got her at just shy of a year old, guessing she didn't get as much handling as she gets now.

@ Prog- I've heard good things about their temperament. I'm hoping this guy is pretty tame. Neither my coastal nor my jungle have ever struck at me. He's got some red in him now but the breeder says he'll get even more red as he grows. His parent's are both pretty nice so let's hope the apple doesn't fall far from the tree :).

They're supposed to be very mellow as adults, and my girl is improving - and she was never as bad as my Honduran milk, who is a sweetheart now. Some of her issues may also have related to her head shyness-she can make herself panic by touching something with her nose - like the bookshelf had attacked her, not she went to investigate it. [emoji3]

Your boy's parents are gorgeous, too. If I get another Morelia or Antaresia, I've had Nick Mutton on my shortlist for a while.

I got my tank up and running today. I'll be using an IR heat bulb to boost my ambient temps a little. The new guy should arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday. Can't wait!
