    Pastel or Super Pastel?
These two mojave boys are being offered to me as super pastels. They're 400 and 700 g respectively. I kind of thought supers would have more blushing, but I haven't seen a lot of super pastel mojaves of this size to compare them to. Anyone with a more experienced eye want to take a crack at it?

They look supers to me. Regular pastaves are darker.

Thanks! I guess the mojave really darkens them up, huh? I'm used to some of the other super pastel combos being blushed to the point of sometimes looking gray or silver.

Of the two I think I'm leaning toward the bottom one. What do you think?

They're both quite nice. You should choose the one that catches your eye or possess' the characteristics you want going forward in your plans. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Maybe I'm wrong but shouldn't the head be more blushed out if it were a Super Pastel?

I'm leaning towards just Pastave honestly. From what I've seen, a super pastel Mojave would have a more blushed out head. Don't quote me, I definitely am not an expert lol I I believe there can be some variation in how dark Pastaves can get, like other morphs. Perhaps they are just from a line of really bright pastels? What was the pairings for them?

Normally I would think the head should be blushed out more BUT comparing to my pastaves I would say those may be supers for the lack of black..

Under the WOB site for reference:

I tried finding the examples that were as close in resemblance to the ones you listed as possible. There seems to be a lot of variance when it comes to these two combos. Hope this helps!

Thanks guys! I think I'm going to sit and wait for a bit.

I didn't wan't to say who the breeder was because I didn't want that to sway opinion. These were both produced by Brian Gundy out of his gold blush line. I actually wanted a different super pastave boy he had listed for sale, but when I inquired he said he'd decided to keep the little dude as a hold back but he had two other less expensive super pastave males available and sent pics of these two.

But I think I have my mind and heart settled. I know what he can produce and I want the best, so I'm going to wait and see what comes out this up coming season.

in my opinion it looks like a regular pastave. they can be quite variable, i have produced some dark ones and some crazy high yellow/blushed out ones from this pastel female i have.

Same for me, i will say simple pastave but that s remind me a story here about aguy breeding a pastave male to 4 females and end up with over 20 hatchlings all with at leas one pastel gene. And that male look like a pastave. Many Said his killerbee got most of the clutches but he also hatched half with mojave in it...
So if that guy prove out to be super i won t be suprised that much.
