What do you see?
First of all, I just got home and see that I need to change her water :)Secondly, is anyone else seeing lumps or is it just me? My girl has been bowl-wrapping and soaking on and off since I started pairing her in October. She shed and went off feed mid-December and has been parked on the cool side since. She seems uncomfortable being touched lately and flicks anyone away, including my male pastel, however she was still locking with him their last pairing(Christmas).Lastly, forgive my noob questions, I'm a little excited :rolleyes:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/image_32.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/image_31.jpg

I'm in that same boat SIR or MA'Am so i'm going to wait to see what others say, my females latest lock was last night... Hope she is what you think she is SIR or MA'AM.. :gj:

All the "symptoms" you describe are a good sign that you´re on track. Just keep waiting the ovulation, she is gonna be building for a while, on the cool side, around the water bowl.
-
Looks like she may be trying to build.
Good luck to you.

Re: What do you see?
Like everyone else said, she looks and sounds like she's building. You may want to get a round ceramic dog dish for a water bowl so she can better wrap and get more of her body surface in contact with the bowl. Get a bowl as big as you can but not so big that she cant fit between the bowl and the sides of her tub and keep the water level up a bit so it can conduct more of the heat from her body when she wraps. Make sure to check on her every day as an Ovulation only lasts about 24 hours and you don't want to miss it. However, once you see it, it is unmistakable because she will look like she's eaten something larger than you have ever given her and it will be in the bottom third of her body. Best of luck and I look forward to pics of baby worms later this year.

Thanks for your thoughts. I had a feeling that was the case, but wanted some expert opinions. :) I'll pick up a new bowl for her today!

looks like she is building. nice girl by the way. Is she just a lemon blast? Hope you can get her a more powerful male to pair her next year .... Always feel that way when i have to pair a single gene male.... except if some one is willing to give away a Puzzle or sunset.... then i guess i will feel OK...:taz:

Thank you, she's a butter spinblast. Gorgeous girl with a great temperament. Love her! This is our first clutch(friend and I), and all we have for males right now is a normal, a champagne, and a pastel, so it's just the pastel this year. Lots of ideas for next season, plus our pastel banana clown boy that's coming. :)
Sidenote: I cleaned her tub last night and now she's parked on the heat.

UPDATE: I just realized she's glowing! I know it can be difficult to detect in brighter morphs, but I was looking back at older pictures of her and she's lightened right up the last few days. She's also been soaking constantly and is looking swollen in the middle. She's such a big girl, I'm unsure whether or not I can tell the difference between ovulation and her usual fat self, though lol.
Also, I mistakenly called her a butter spin blast in the last post. She's a butter spinner. Butter spin blast is a combo we're hoping for:D

If she is glowing and soaking, then she almost certainly has not ovulated. They glow "before" they go, is the saying, and after ovulation she will quickly go back to her normal coloration. The soaking is a good sign. Almost all my females last season soaked before they ovulated and these were females I had never seen soak before. One stayed in the bowl for the entire shedding process. I believe in all cases it turned to be the pre-ovulation shed in which they were soaking. It's a small sample set, but it was my experience.
Here are a couple pics. The one girl didn't seem to mind that she had tried to cram 1900 grams worth of snake into a 1500 gram capacity bowl.

Thanks for that tid bit! I was wondering why she was starting to darken up again.
Well, she's now been hugging the heat for days and laying in some interesting positions. She's also got a serious case of sausage butt, despite having been off feed for weeks.

Update! She's been on the heat since Thursday, often in a perfect coil. I assumed I'd missed an ovulation. Tonight I'm not so sure.
Saturday, sausage butt

Re: What do you see?
Checked on her this morning and found she'd made a big mess of her substrate. Big piles and tunnels everywhere, as if she was rearranging it. She's now laying in a little crater, which I'm guessing is a positive sign. :)

She's 16 days from her "due date". Caught her twisted up like this tonight. Hoping for healthy babies in the near future. :)

Relax, you will be getting eggs soon. Have you got your incubator in order, along with your egg boxes? Congrats,if you think this waiting is long. Wait until you are waiting for those eggs to hatch.:) I have been where you are the excitement never goes away.

I've got all my supplies, just setting up and turning on the incubator this weekend. :) Yes, 60 days is going to be agonizing haha

Re: What do you see?
WOW....way cool! Keep us posted. I love the pics as they are very useful and I can use to compare to my BP. I think she might be gravid as well (normal female x mystic potion male)and I can compare her progress to your pictures.
Good luck!!!

I've been taking pictures of her daily since I suspected she was gravid, plus many more beforehand. This is my first clutch, so I'm using them to document her colour, size, shape, etc. I go back and study them and the timeline, keep track of her behaviour and whatnot. Yeah, I'm a nerd. :) I know every female is different and some are atypical, but I find it helpful to watch and learn. I've read a ton in my research, but there's nothing like watching it unfold. Glad to know you're finding it helpful as well! Good luck with yours!
