    Kushina, Black Head Red Gene
I think the red gene has a lot of potential, would love to see it axanthic of course, and the black head really magnifies it. I haven't seen too many available, but Jennifer Chafin of Wicked Balls, a breeder in one of my FB groups works with them. She works with a lot of the newer genes like trick, ringer, and gai. Her prices are very reasonable, and she updates me all the time. I will be purchasing from her again for sure. Kushina started off having to be force fed, but is not taking prey on her own. I can't wait to get her home in the spring.

I've only seen a few on Kingsnakeclassifieds, nothing on WOBP. I will see if I can find the pictures she sent me.

You should just send all your snakes to me. All of them. I swear I'll take good care of them. ;)

Okay, I made a mistake, its Gia not Gai . Here is the Gia stuff.

The more normal looking one is a female single gene Gia, the male is actually Kushina's father a Black Head Mojave Red Gene Ringer Gene.

They all look amazing! When you say "red gene", are you referring to the red stripe gene or is this something else? :tears:

Nope, not red stripe. Red Gene was found in some Black Heads, and isolated as a separate gene.

The breeder wasn't sure if the baby had red gene or not, so she ended up sending me an older female that she knew for sure was a Black Head Red Gene. I received her on 5/17/16 at 653 grams. Her last shed was 8/23/16. She is now 751 grams.

So red gene is all about the blushing right? I've never seen a single gene red gene animal, I always thought it was linked to a specific line of blackheads. Guess not

Yup, red gene causes the blushing you see here. Red gene was first discovered from blackheads, so is often together, but I have seen single gene red genes available. I think it looks the best paired with blackhead though.
