Buy a giant plot of land and build a nice little house and a massive ware house to satisfy my car addiction and of course a crap ton of new snakes

Re: If you hit the PowerBall?
Buy my mother a mansion with 24 hr help. Go straight to St. Jude's Research center for cancer treatment for children and make a 200 million dollar donation. Then head to the Lexus dealership Lol.

been talking about this a lot haha.
I think house is the first thing on everyone's list.
I'd get a house for each member of my family, preferably in the same area or on the same block.
I'd dedicate a section of my house, or maybe a few rooms to reptiles.
Travel to Europe and Australia. Maybe Canada ;).
Buy a plot of land and start a no-killing dog shelter.
Fund more homeless shelters.
If there's anything else, I'd divide it between my family and I.
Continue business as usual :gj:.

i'd buy about 10 acres of land, have a nice house and facility custom built on said land to house reptiles. indulge my hobby until the day i die.

Paying off debts, buying a house with seperate rooms for everything and maybe a whole space just for snakes including quarantine sections and all * A*

The only other thing I would add is I would show up in person to St. Jude's to make the donation in a press conference type venue. Haha

With the latest estimates being a 576 million dollar payout after everything is said and done, I would set aside 200 million to live off the interest from, 5% would be 10m a year for life, should be doable pretty easily. Pay off all of my debt and my parents debt. Give them enough to retire now and travel/relax while they can. Fix my Dad's teeth too, he hates his new dentures with a passion. Spend a couple million on land, new house, new garage and new snake room with about 20-30 snakes to really build out my collection and my breeding hobby. Finish my road race blazer. Stock up my gunsafe with the essentials, get a truck that can handle the weather up here and a car that's a little more comfortable than my Sonic. Donate the other 250-300 million to various charities, would really like to spread it between something that actually does some good for Vets(homeless and PTSD especailly) and a no kill shelter or two. Probably bring home about a half dozen shelter dogs who are on short time and give them a good home.

Send funds to a couple of animal shelters.
Pay off the land mortgage.
Fencing
Deeper well
solar
sheep
get an alfalfa and grass hay fields set up so we are not always dealing with buying hay
Better barns and green houses
High end buck for the dairy goats
expand nut and fruit orchard
livestock guardian dogs for the four legged predators
security cameras and more armaments for the two leggedes
bomb shelter

I'd take a small chunk and go wild. Buy whatever I wanted just to get it out of my system. Then I would pay off all debt, buy a house and maybe a vacation home. A good sum would go to various charities. The rest would be tied up in a trust and I would set it up to pay me a certain amount each year and the rest would sit and grow. I'd also set up a perpetual school fund for any family who wanted to go to college. For my immediate family, I would not give them a lump sum. I would set up trusts for each member and give them a monthly stipend to live comfortably. That way they couldn't blow the money. I need to protect them from themselves. Lol.
I would probably go back to school and get a degree in something I was interested in, learn a craft, and do whatever I wanted. If I ever worked again, it would be for myself doing something I loved.

Its sure fun to day dream. I think the most enjoyable part would be to help others. You could change a lot of lives.

Re: If you hit the PowerBall?
Someone once said to me something that really put the odds in perspective. He asked me, "When was the last time you had a conversation with your wife about what you would do when you're struck by lightning?" I said, "I've never had that conversation." He said, "Why not? Your odds are better at that then hitting the lottery."
That being said, I still play. But I only ever purchase one ticket and I just do a computer pic for numbers. Don't really think about what I'll do until I have too. Right now just it's wasted thoughts and time.

If I were to ever hit the power ball, I would pay off all my debts make sure my immediate family is secure for a while. buy a new house on enough land to where I can have a reptile facility built, new car, and donate a decent amount to USARK's defense

Interestingly enough we had a group at work hit one of the smaller payouts, $50k split between 25 people. Not life-altering cash but a nice little windfall.
And no, I didn't play. I've never purchased a lottery ticket in my life.

More like $1300 after taxes. Fun money but not life-altering.

I actually find the thought experiment to be useful, even unexpectedly liberating.
Most of what I would want to do is limited more by time and focus than money.

Re: If you hit the PowerBall?
I was reafing some articles about people who have won the lottery in the past,
Not a single one of them had successful life
They all ended no money
Or dead

Re: If you hit the PowerBall?
I know this is a bit late. But If I would have won it. I would make minimal changes for me. I would set up my parents and close family and friends. But as for myself I would only pay off my truck and house and continue working. I have a history of substanince abuse and I think If I went crazy with the money I wouldn't last long. It would be an excuse, same as it would for people with out the problems I have had. I'm already tight and very strict with money and I think I would be even more so with just "all the money". I would donate heavily to charities. But i'm very happy with where I am now. I don't want any drastic changes.
I would hate for a stroke of good luck to turn bad.
