My miracle
I'll try to make this as short as possible.
I kept ball pythons since ever, but I decided to start breeding 6 years ago. I got my first morph, a pastel male. He was an import and had a nasty infection. Hopefully he made it through, leaving two big scars. The next year he produced three clutches, I hold back two pastel females. Last year I put a yb male with her and she produced a pastelyb insanly beautiful, and a normal with a singular belly. Every year that pastel male produced some of the offspring with extra orange or something different. So this year I decided to put him with his daughter to see if there was something going on. That pastelyb and odd normal made me wonder.
The pairing was Pastel x Pastel.
She laid 8 fertile eggs.
And here is my miracle. I literally almost cried when I cut the first egg and saw this...

And this in the second...

Pieds have always been my favorite morph. I looked at those other guys pictures showing their pieds and I was like...."wow....how beautiful!"
I made the cut late at night, and I couldnt sleep after. I still open the tub and dont really believe it.

I got one normal 66% poss het pied male and all the others females.
2 killerpieds
1 pied
1 superpastel 66%het
1 pastel 66% het
1 normal 66% het
On the sad side one hatchling was severe kinked, with an underdeveloped lower jaw, pip on its own but in the morning was already dead.

Re: My miracle
I'm so happy for you, I can't even begin to imagine how you felt. I would have needed a double dose of Nyquil to get me to sleep after that.

That's amazing, congrats on a wonderful clutch.

Amazing!
Stories like yours make me wish my girls would hurry and grow up so I could breed, but then I want them to stay babies cause I like their baby looks. . Lol. .
Kudos for keeping open to the unexpected. I don't have the luck for something like this to happen to me, so I prolly wouldn't hAve tried dad to daughter robbing it would produce anything special.

I'm not the lucky kind of guy. I remembered reading Justin Kobylka's story about his pieds, and saying to myself. What a lucky guy! I' m that guy know . [emoji41][emoji2]
I always did this because its something I love. I dont live out of this, is my hobby. And it is always a win, you never lose. And this time a BIG win!!! lol

Re: My miracle
Congratulations on an awesome clutch. It would have been terrific if it was totally planned. But to come out with those results unexpectedly. Wow! I'd be interested in seeing pics of the sire and dam. Do you have current pics and juvenile pics as well?

Wow congrats! What an amazing surprise.

I`ll have to look...I dont know if a have some juvenile pics. Anyway they show no signs at all. I´m not an expert but, now I know I have hatched several het pieds along this 4 seasons, and I have never had one ringer. I do saw some cleanness and extra orange along the sides in some of the offspring that called my attention.

Here are some pics from the clutch where the mother was born. I dont know which one she is....:P

Here you can see dad, he ate a big rat yesterday, so I´m not bothering him to take some pics just yet. He is just a normal pastel, no tracks in the belly, nor ringer.....nothing.

And here you can se the belly of mom, along with last year hatchling with het pied markers....

I also uploaded a vid about ringer balls, I see it now and its boring and there is no ringers, just blushing, but I was calling it!!
