Yackle - My Ugly BP and Some Clowns

this is Yackle, the ugliest BP i've probably ever seen. and i still <3 <3 her. :P

she just has too many spots on her pattern, the pattern it itself is so wierd, spots on her dorsal stripe, etc. etc. i think she's a low quality Clown but she's mine. :)

i got her awhile ago and she refused to eat for me for a few weeks. then things just clicked and she's slammed 2 live hoppers and a small adult mouse last week.

Very nice ... Personally I like Yackle's looks (I tend to favor what is odd and different from what everyone else considers "standard or average" specifically that dorsal stripe! You said in another post you intend to hobby breed ... I am interested in seeing what that funky pattern produces for you in the future, not to mention both of your clowns have awesome head stamps :gj: ....... Also, I feel a little ashamed to say that had I received that awesome orange clown on accident, my girlfriend probably would have had to beat me down to contact the breeder and notify them of their mistake :rofl: your honesty in that particular event deserves much respect :bow:

she's special b/c she was the first BP i've had that just refused to eat. she refused live hoppers, live fuzzies, live pinkies. i think she was afraid of them. i was really worried. and then 3 weeks ago - BAM! she hits a hopper like a 90gram freight train. :)

To be honest, it's hard to find a clown I don't like. I've seen low quality clowns, and Yackle doesn't fit that bill to me :gj:.

What I look for in most morphs is uniformity in patterns. Other morphs I have a standard look I try to go for. Clowns, it's alll about uniformity, consistency, color, and the head pattern :D!
- Awesome head pattern
- Consistent blotches in the dorsal stripe
- Consistent dots on the side!
- Consistently minimal tear drops

Clowns are amazing, and I'm glad you have a bunch of them :D!

I usually prefer the very clean clowns with the dark dorsal stripe, but I think yours has the right amount of clutter to make it look really cool and have it stand out from the pack. I think the typical clown pattern is what makes them appealing. reduced patterns look nice and clean also.

She is obviously a prime example of the Pug Effect: she is so ugly, she goes all the way around and pops back up at the other end of the scale :rofl:

Well I think you did the right thing. Like I said I was just playing Devil's advocate with my remarks about deliveries. It looks like you have a very interesting clown. I can definitely understand why you would have contacted the Seller regarding what you had received. If you had intentionally purchased a snake with a busy pattern the one you received, though beautiful in it's own right, was not at all what you were looking for. You have a nice start of a circus. (See what I did there?)

All three are very nice, personally I like clowns with a little more pattern, after all that's how they got their name in the first place. The earliest clowns showed a pattern of 'clown tears' down their sides.

I don't think ugly is the right word at all! I've shown your pics of Yackle to a few people and they all had good things to say :) and so do I; I think that is an awesome looking BP. Beautiful animals you've got there.

i think it just annoys me that she has spots on her dorsal stripe. :/

I too love them all... However I'm especially liking that accidental clown! Jeez, you have an ever growing collection, I'm jealous! There's an expo coming up here on the 16th I'll be going to, likely coming home with someone new too.
How exactly does one getting an accidental snake go?
