My new Baby

Ok folks its official I have a Baby T+ Sunglow Central American Boa Constrictor on the way, Im really excited and can hardly wait for the Fed Ex Van tomorrow. My Baby is a Female and she's beautiful I don't think I will sleep tonight. She's Coral and pink and cream and she's a looker lots of pictures tomorrow. Grats and I know what you mean. Everytime I got a new member of the family, I would sit by the window at 10:20am looking for the Fed Ex guy hahaha.

Does that mean it skips a week, or might the seller ship the following day?

I've got a corn scheduled to arrive Thursday.

you'd be a lot sadder to receive a DOA snake. it's worth the wait. I once had horrible timing on purchasing some carpet pythons and waited nearly 5 months for delivery due to the onset of winter without break that same day. I knew the snakes were in good hands being properly cared for so I didn't worry about it. Of course I checked the weather on the shipper's end regularly ( I live in south florida, weather's only a problem here when a hurricane blows through which has also caused me an occasional delay), but it was a long cold winter on the other end. It was quite exciting when they finally arrived. Hope your wait is a lot shorter.

Thank you I am so excited , this is my first Boa, I put in alot of hours researching online and I bought a couple of good Books for my Kindle If anything I now can go back to the 1800 and 1900 hundard time frames and my head is packed with tons of knowledge its pretty interesting stuff on the history of these Snakes . Some are almost extinct. Any how I love history.

I do have a Question if anyone here could help me with From my studies the female gets a little larger than the males I bought a Female this is just going to be a pet anyone here have a past with these Boas ??? Is the Female more easy going than the Males I have not found information on this to satisfy my Brain.

Both males and females usually have similar behaviors.

Thanks for your input I am curious since this is a pet only if I should just go with a male this is not about Price as they both sexes are the same price. Im going to go see if I can find the girth of mature male and female Central America boas, thats one question I feel I have not found the answer to.Off to google I go I read my books till 5 A.M. this morning. .I love my Kindle.

never really been a boa guy used to have a few sand boas but thats about it what would you say a good 1st boa is

Im ready for this purchase Im Googling to see if I can find the adult girth on both sexes I most likely go with the Female after reading several new articles and It was my first choice when my finger hit that buy button... my Mom always said trust your instincts and your heart may my Mom R.I.P. Is this silly or what I turned 57 on xmas day and I still want my Mother here to talk to shes been gone 12 years.

I was told some species and the area they are from can get pretty big Im not looking at that aspect I do however Know my skills and am always learning new information. ... I also looked at the Boas out of Mexico pretty interesting how all these Boas ended up here and their dating back to the 1800 the early pioneer, s that worked with these must of been amazed at what they found..[emoji4]

I found a great article on the size of the Boas, they say that the female will be larger than the male in girth it did not say how much and thats what Im after an Idea of inches like if the male is 6 inches round is the Female 9 inches so my search continues.
