new year resolution
So, I have two new years resolutions. One, to start field herping in the warmer months to come and two, to start my bp collection so I can start breeding in the next few years or so. What are you guys new years resolutions?
-
Re: new year resolution
I decided last summer that I wanted to start breeding. My resolution is to stop buying so many snakes this year before my wife kills me.
-
Stop buying :snake: :snake::snake:!! :rolleyes:
-
1. only buy snakes that u plan to breed (work into projects)
2. be ready to breed by end of year, i may have to buy an adult/near breeding size female BP
3. learn how to sex BP's - pop and/or probe
4. switch my whole collection to frozen/thawed food
5. join a local BP/reptile group
-
Thats some great resolutions, I'm thinking of buying this adult female pastel I found at my local pet store.
-
My resolution is to actually FIND a snake around my area. :P
-
I want to start working on a tarantula collection.
Those of you that said you are not going to buy anymore balls.............. We know you LIE!!!!:rofl::rofl:
-
Pay off my current snake debts

Re: new year resolution
I told myself I would wait a year to get a second snake when I got back into keeping them. There is a reptile expo where I'm at on the 16th. I think it's time. New snake for the new year!

Also I plan to buy more balls
Also, coontinue on my health and fitness journey! Lost nearly 4 stone:) Well okay I put a stone of that back on over Christmas but hey lol

Re: new year resolution
My new years resolutions are:
1) get a breeding age calico combo female so I can start breeding with my lemon blast next season.
2) I want to expand my bp collection by at least three new bps (a breeding partner for each of my current bps) but probably more lol.
3) Start exercising more regularly and eat better.
4) To try to not stress myself out or procrastinate to horribly with planning my wedding at the end of this year lol.

Re: new year resolution
1.) Add two more females to my collection and then STOP BUYING SNAKES UNTIL MY CURRENT ONES GROW UP. I've expanded my collection substantial within the last 5 months and keep telling myself I'm done, but I have my eye on two more really nice girls and once I have them, then I'll be done :P
2.) Pay off all current snake debt. I put several on my credit card so it's about time I started paying those off completely
3.) But new racks for more space. In a couple months I will have 2 coming out of quarantine so I'll be needing a new, larger rack to house all the snakes in one space.
4.) Begin networking more and meeting more people within the hobby. I plan on attending more reptile shows and talking to other local breeders more. This way when my current girls are finally up to size, I have people local I can turn to for advice and perhaps partner up with for some projects.
I want to be more active within the hobby, learn how to identify the morphs better, and be a more educated herper. Eventually I want to extend my collection to include other species. I like blood pythons, and eventually I'd love to get a sunglow boa or two. I'd also be interested in getting a monitor or two in the future as well.

Get better equipment (thermostat, rack, etc) and snakes! Already this spring if I'm lucky I might get 3 new ones, very hopeful.
-
To do a complete top to bottom cleaning of the herp room and get rid of all the things I've collected that 'I might need someday' but in reality have never used.
To lose 20 more lbs.

is this the PDX expo?
lookout for HDI Reptiles. they're from just north of Seattle here. Doug said he will be there. he's got Super Cinny's and Cinny combos, Axanthics, Snows, Clowns, hets/het double recessives and so much more. nice prices too!
Edit: these were some from his table at the last Seattle show...
