Runny poop?

My baby ball python started out on a live hopper, then ate f/t for about 7 weeks in a row. He then stopped eating consistently (will eat once every 3 weeks or so) but also has been having runny poop.... what could cause this? I know parasites can but I feed him frozen thawed? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

i would gather some up and take it to a vet to do a fecal test on. This could be parasites or illness especially if it is a consistent issue. You should also make sure your husbandry is on point.

My husbandry is good, all the other babies are thriving it's just this one I'm worried about and they have all been eating the same prey items from the same person so I don't understand how it could be parasites either but next time it happens I'll gather some up

Sounds good. In the meantime i would quarantine him until he is back to normal. If it is an illness you don't want it spreading to everyone else.

Let me also add he is very active....every time I open his tub he is right there wanting to come out so I gave him some hides. Could the poop be stress induced?

I would defiantly get him checked out by the vet I have a baby bumble bee and he has been having the runs all the time and he eats but no solid poop just the runs and he has been losing weight since iv gotten him I have separated him away from all the others and I am bringing him in to get checked out tomorrow. You are not alone man I have the same issue right now.

Keep me updated dude! The only thing is mine isn't eating consistently either...but I'm currently getting his quarantine tub together so if it's an illness it shouldn't spread

Runny poop is not always the sign of something wrong early on when feeding smaller prey size (such as hopper mice or fuzzy rats) you can encounter this issue, which resolve itself when the prey is more meaningful, this does not mean you should rule out other possible issues but this can happen.

Mine took a hopper last night so I'm going to see if his next poop is runny then go from there. I think his body is over digesting the food
