    Close call last night
Coming back from taking the Mrs Christmas shopping we are driving through a very nice area of subdivisions and BOOM sounded like a gun went off. Both of us kind of shocked and had no idea what just happened. My wife was okay so I pulled off on the next road and we got out to look her Tahoe over and finally found a nice dent and gouge just above the passenger side window a mere inches above my wifes head.
We jump back in and go back and now there is a mini van pulled over to the side with broken glass all over the road. I get out and go over to see if the lady was alright. She was fine but a bit shaken with no clue what happened and her large side window of the van is blown out all over. I call the cops and start searching for what the hell hit us. Well some little punks were whipping big thick 10x10 floor tiles at cars from a wooded area!!!
Wife was major upset about her Tahoe but I counted our blessing it didn't hit a couple inches lower as it could have seriously injured or even killed her.

Yea I told the cops they better catch them before someone is seriously injured. Just can't understand how some could have such a serious disregard for anothers safety. Super relieved I can spend the holidays with my wife safe and healthy.

    Glad y'all are ok.

The kids SHOULD know better. However, movies, TV shows, and video games give the impression that it takes a rocket launcher to hurt a vehicle.

See I'm a youth that grew up playing "violent" I don't go around throwing things at cars. It's the parents not being parents and letting them play games when they can't handle it. If the parents would learn to control their kids then we wouldn't have that problem

Sorry you and wifey were subjected to that! So glad you both are safe and unhurt physically. What a shame that so much of our youth is fixated on a " game boy" mentality with no regard for human safety and other people's property. We really need to increase school time and take the 2 month summer off the table for children and teen agers. Put a book in these kids hands and make it mandatory that in a case such as this that they be tried as adults! Be careful. ;)

What a terrible thing! I'm glad you and your wife are okay.

Around here we have tons of overpasses and kids will drop bricks or concrete blocks off the overpass trying to hit cars. There was recently a lady who was nearly killed but survived with massive brain injuries from a block being thrown on her car. It's not a game and kids who get busted doing it are prosecuted.

Any parent who finds out their kids are doing stuff like this should drop kick the little buggers. When I was a kid, we might have spit off an overpass but we surely never tried to hurt anyone.

Well I have a 100$ deductible so at least repair costs aren't going to be really bad. I'm so thankful my wife wasn't injured that everything else kind of immaterial. We'll have been married 33 years tomorrow and just blessed we won't be celebrating in the hospital!!

Best Wishes on the anniversary, and you guys deserve the greatest celebration possible. Wow! What a milestone , some married couples can't work it out to stay together for 33 days. :)

Juveniles will not be subjected to any real criminal penalty if/when caught.

It is sad but true. I'm glad you are OK and your wife is uninjured.

Your best course of action should they be caught, is to go after them (parents) civilly and try to collect some money for damages to the vehicle.
Unfortunately you will end up paying for an attorney that will probably cost more than your damages, unless you can add court costs to the suit.

In the current environment we have trending, the offenders end up getting more rights and empathy than the actual victims.

I can tell you if I found out my kids had done that to your property/family, they'd be at your door apologizing in person and I'd be writing you a check for damages and tuning them up for stupid behavior.

Most parents side with their precious, babies and never rest any blame on them for their actions.

Keep your chin up, and have a good holiday!

Oh your 100% spot on. Was just thinking tonight what if that lady had an infant in the back in a car seat. I pity what my dad would have done with me.

Happy anniversary! I'm glad that you and your wife are both okay to enjoy it!

I completely support trying juveniles as adults if the crime risked death or severe injury to the victim.

Congrats on the anniversary Smitty. Cheers to another 33 blissful years. I'm glad you, your wife, nor the other driver were seriously injured. I hope the offenders are held accountable and change their destructive ways quickly. If not karma will teach them.
