Looking for a good scale for snakes

I've used over a dozen different digital scale over the years but I've never found a really good one yet. My last one was a nightmare, because it took a LOT to get it turned on and swapped to grams from pounds, and then I swear if I didn't touch it for 3 seconds, it turned itself off.

I would like a scale that does larger snakes easily, uses grams(or can be switched to grams easily), doesn't auto-shut itself off, and doesn't break the bank in price.

Any suggestions? I appreciate any help here. I can google all day long but that doesn't tell me how good the product is.

Got mine at Walmart for about $20 and weighs to 5k gram

I would not mind spending up to $50, but I'd worry that my larger pythons wouldn't fit on that one.

Which one at Walmart? I've gotten two from there so far. Also my latest one that I hated came from Walmart too. LOL.

I use this one as well. As for my big snakes I use a big salad bowl in top of the supplied bowl.

what size pythons you talking about..Get a bigger bowl or something to hold the snakes in...

after installing the batteries::

step 1 press the Tare button in the middle, this ZEROS everything out

step 2 weight the "bowl/container" your using to weigh the snakes by itself...

step 3 weight the snake in the container, get your weight number then subtract the containers weight from the "snake and container" weight.. That's just if you needed a bigger container...

Oh yeah and it has a PROGRAMMABLE Auto-Shut off

The bowl that comes with it is perfect for babies. However, it's way too small for adults, so I just went out and grabbed a big metal mixing bowl to check it. Weighed a Webster's Desktop Reference set in the small bowl - 1.73 Kg. Put the large bowl on and tared it out, and the set weighed in exactly the same. That big bowl should be plenty large enough for any ball python - not so much a mature Burmese, probably!

Usually if you tare it out, it will zero no matter what is on it. So if your scale allows it, you can put the mixing bowl on instead of the thing it comes with, hit TARE and it will zero it so you can just add the snake and get the weight, without using math to subtract the bowl weight.

Cant find it on their site, then again I HATE THEIR SITE too.
Its a square grey one with a square glass surface.
I Velcroed a 12qt tub to it.

I have the 7001DX a few others have mentioned, but I also use an upside down hide to hold my larger BP's when I weigh them.

has anyone used this one from Vivarium Electronics? it's stainless steel and has a lifetime warranty.
