How to increase humidity?

My baby is going through shed and I need to increase humidity, I currently have a heat pad with a water bowl over it.

put some damp paper towel in the hide over the heat pad. That will help out tons. What are your levels now?

What container are you using? Misting works to raise the humidity for shorter periods of time. Dampening the substrate helps a lot, but depending on what you use you might not want to do that or if you do make sure to change it in a day or two.

Take a plastic box and cut a hole in the side or lid, filing away rough edges. Then you can fill it with something that's going to hold moisture, such as paper towels, sphagnum moss, etc. You want to keep the substrate inside damp but not overly wet.

I'm using a tank with a screen top. My levels are at 50%.

Glass tanks with screen tops are much more difficult to keep proper humidity in. General consensus seems to be 60-70% humidity, and maybe a bit higher when the snake is getting ready to shed. Do you have anything covering the screen, such as plastic wrap or something similar? Also, I know you said you had a heat pad, do you have any lights on the tank as well? If you do, lights can suck the humidity right out.

i make a similar humid hide. i use one of those little rodent igloos and fill it with some damp moss and place it in the enclosure.

Foil, a wet towel, plexiglass, or a combination of those. Obviously you'd leave a small portion uncovered for air flow.

I personally went the plastic tub route, so I don't have first hand experience, but I've seen people use plexiglass, plastic wrap, or even damp towels to cover around 3/4 of the top. You still want room for ventilation. Hopefully someone who has first hand experience with glass tanks will also chime in.

Plexiglass works great to partially cover your screen top. It doesn't look bad either, so you can leave it all the time. Don't seal it in place so it can be shifted or removed to fine tune things. The people at Lowes, Home Depot, or wherever you buy it will usually cut it to size too if you're unfamiliar with the process.

Don't put your CHE on top of the plexiglass. I've got about 2/3 of the top screen covered with the plexiglass, and my CHE is the light fixture sitting on the screen. They'll be fine so long as they aren't touching. You want a little open screen for circulation.
