Handling during sHed? yes or no.
-
Erm.. I do if necessary, but not excessively. Though, none of my snakes are wacko nut cases. If they were, I'd be inclined to leave them alone at that time if at all possible. :)
-
I leave them alone becuase sometimes they can be pretty scared during that time, so i just let them be until after they are done.....then, its picture time !! ;) :D
-
I leave mine alone for the most part, unless I have to mess with them at shed time. Now, my boa, he is the sweetest guy, but I definately wont mess with him at shed time!!!
-
Kingsnake, definite not. Ball pythons, as needed, but generally given their space.
-
Same here. When my snakes are in shed I handle them only when needed.
-
Like most others it's an "as required" situation.
-
I agree with the others; I don't handle them during shed, unless something comes up (cage needs to be cleaned is the only real reason I would.) My boa in particular gets really stressed out when his eyes are in the blue. I'd rather not stress them with handling or feeding at that time.
-
I dont try to hold my BP during shed either but when i pick her up without seeing her eyes shaded she is always just as sweet as always, she really doesn't care.
-
I leave my guys alone as much as possible. Butters will freak out, and Issa is not particularly a happy camper when he's in blue.
-
I think the consensus is do not do it unless it is compeltelty necesary. Its jsut a short times (or probably should be with the right humidity) during which your snake should be left alone.
