This is the clutch I have been waiting for all year.
I love my recessives and I do have a super long project that has sped up a little here.
These are a result of my VPI Axanthic X Albino.
I actually got my wife up to make sure I was seeing what I thought I was seeing.

Yeah I guess. She was never paired with anyone else and I swapped one of my albinos for her a couple years back. Both his and mine were right out of the egg so I know her whole history.
The same friend tradded a hog island boa for the Axanthic and then gave him to me so other than him being visual Ax everything else is unknown I have had him maybe 2 years, he didnt do anything for me last year....

That seems weird. I'm not interested in albinos so I really don't know if het albino is desirable enough to really list it in adds for more money, but I guess what's more likely is just that it was a possible het (less than 66) since I don't really see people even list or suggest that except for at shows. Hell, last show I went to I asked about het pieds and the guy showed me a "possible het pied that was locked up with a pied male a week or two before and might be gravid". That's a whole lot of maybes to justify taking the chance. I was almost tempted to (only 75 bucks) thinking that even if she wasn't het I could still get all het pieds, but that's assuming that they did lock up, that she ovulates, and the eggs are even viable. It's too bad I wasn't looking for a lottery ticket that day.

The chances of this happening seem so low, not only is it probably a low possible het, but you just so happened to pair it with a visual. It's crazy to think of all the recessive genetics that might be hidden in our snakes. That has to be an awesome feeling though, thinking you're going to be getting all hets and then bam, a visual for one and het for the other.

Although, not to be a negative nancy, was the mom the albino or the axanthic? If the mom was albino then I'd be a little afraid of a partho clutch. You'll take the visual hatchling, raise it up 1-3 years, breed it and miss the albino axanthic, breed it again and miss again, then the third year of breeding you'll miss again and start to think something is off.

Edit: Just reread your post above and saw that the albino was the mom. Is it possible it's a partho clutch? I'm not super familiar with partho clutches but I guess if you got anything besides albino that it's not a partho clutch. Regardless, healthy babies are always a great thing and you sure got an awesome surprise!

i would wait on other hatchling before getting so excited , you may have miss on everything and got a parthogenesis clutch. But i still cool if you get 0.5 albino:gj: even if it will put 1 year behind

The count has changed 2 visual Albinos and 4 DH
As far as IF they are parthos or not doesn't matter as none will be for sale and only a pair will be going to a friend of mine.
We both like long term stuff :rofl::rofl:

at this odd, i don t think partho!!! you got pretty lucky:bow:, hope some stuff like that happen to me next year!! do you got a male albino het ax.??? This guy will increase your odds badly!!!

Awesome clutch and luck! Always wondered how many hidden recessives are actually roaming around in our collections. Theoretically more than we would probably think, as with the marketing aspect of these animals if we breed a 50% possible het to a different project, we have already dismissed that the offspring are het for what ever recessive the dam or sire could have been het for, though if we didn't attempt to proove it,that animal actually could have been het, if it was making 50% statistically of offspring het and later those would breed and half could again be hets. It really wouldn't surprise me if we don't all have hidden hets some where in our collections, just the odds of accidentally pairing to the proper animal to find them becomes rediculously rare.

Well I'm not thrilled with the final count
1.1 Albino Het Axanthic
0.4 Het Albino Het Axanthic

That's a LOT of weight for one male to carry.
I may pair up this Axanthic and Albino again either next year or the year after just for some more males???

Kind of throws off my True Ghost project, maybe.

We plan on a 1:5 ratio, some males get it done, others.... Not so much lol
