Slowcountry Balls 2015-2016 Season

We started a little earlier this year than in previous years, but so far only two of our boys have figured out what to do.

Our 2014 male Pastel GHI has already locked with 3 girls, a 2012 female Super Mojave, a 2013 female Firefly, and a 2013 female Pastel Mojave Hypo

And this project is going to the next level, our 2012 male color changing Orangebelly has locked up with our 2013 female color changing Orangebelly!

Keeping the project on the smaller side, so I am only planning on pairing the color changing 2012 male Orangebelly with the color changing 2013 female Orangebelly and his 2012 female Pastel Orangebelly sister.

Thanks. It seems like forever to get to the point where they can breed, but you'll get there. You'll get lots of cool ideas between now and when you breed yours. Jot those ideas down, and think big!

So, I've done a horrible job of keeping this thread up to date, but here are some new highlights.

This is the 2014 male Pastel GHI that we got from Daniel Allison of Constriction Addiction (https://www.facebook.com/ConstrictionAddiction01/) paired up with our big 2008 female Mojave. She has laid some great clutches for us in the past and we think she is real close to laying for this season.

Here is our 2013 male Pewter Mystic locked with a great looking, large 2009 female Pastel.

We've paired up our 2014 male Super Mystic with the sister of our 2013 male Pewter Mystic to test whether or not she has Mojave or Mystic in her. She just looks so different from any other Pewter, but also different from her brother, so I think she might have Mojave. Hopefully we'll get some Mystic Potions out of this to prove that.

We've been hoping that our 2013 male Pastel Hypo het Pied would start locking up with our 2010 female Pied het Hypo and our 2011 female Pastel Enchi, but just in case he doesn't get the job done, we've been pairing up our 2014 male Super Mystic with those girls too (a tip we learned from Justin Kobylka, http://www.jkobylkareptiles.com/). Here he is locked up with the Pastel Enchi.

Also, our first two clutches are on the ground. The first is the third clutch from our male Cinnamon Yellowbelly Paint paired with a female that is supposed to be a Paint. The first picture is one of the locks, with the next picture being her on the eggs, and then the last picture is of the seven good eggs.

The second clutch is from our 2010 female Melanistic paired to her 2014 Pastel Mojave Melanistic son. We acquired the Melanistic project by getting this 2010 female and her grand mother, the founding animal that was imported from Africa. The original owner told me that he had proved this Melanistic gene to be an incomplete dominate gene, with the original imported female being the super form. The first picture is the imported female paired with the 2014 male Pastel Mojave Melanistic. The second picture is one of the locks that produced 2016 Clutch 2. The third picture is the 2010 female Melanistic on the eggs, and the fourth picture shows the seven good eggs and one slug.

Thanks. I tried to sell her this past fall, but no one wanted her. She has awesome color, which her babies have too, and lays big clutches, so I am hoping for some Mystic Sterlings!

Well, I have been quite the slacker on this thread. Life got real busy and I have not had a ton of time to get online. As an apology, I am going to post some pictures that highlight this season for us.

Our Melanistic project didn't give any solid answers, but did give more animals that are dark and granite looking. Here is a picture of a Melanistic from Big Mamma and Big Mamma's granddaughter with a normal in the top middle to show how dark they are:

Both of these are at least the Yellowbelly Pisntripes. The male might be a Cinnamon Yellowbelly Pinstripe. What do you guys think?

I think the top left girl is a Super Pastel Enchi and the other two girls are Pastel Enchis, oh, and they are all 100% het Hypo 50% het Pied.

2016 Clutch 5 was from our color changing Orangebelly to his Pastel Orangebelly sister. It included this gem. I am not sure if he is an Ivory or a Pastel Ivory.

Also moved into my first Clown project through a breeding loan with another member here. I used his Pastel Clown male paired to my Leopard female and we got lucky enough to hatch out a male Pastel Leopard het Clown and two female Pastel Leopard het Clowns in that clutch. First up is the two females.
