    Avatar problems
I am not able to put a custom avatar on my profile. I have tried uploading the file, different file formats and it always says it cant save the picture. I have tried uploading it to hosting sites and then it says invalid URL or not valid picture.

I would really like to get my own avatar pic to show off my snake rather than the provided pics.

    Any help greatly appreciated!

Did you shrink it down? It needs to be 150 x 180.

Yes I shrunk it to 120 x 150 as that is what it said in the instructions.

Are those avatar no larger than 150 wide by 180 high and no larger than 170.9 KB?

If so please email me your avatar at Deborah@StewartReptiles.com so I can see if I can figure it out by testing them myself.

    Thanks.

I can send you the files but they were under the file sizes, I tried multiple sizes. I also tried different formats both jpeg and png to see if that made a difference. It didn't matter what the file was or if I uploaded it direct or to a hosting site to link the file, so not sure how sending it to you could help? Is there any known issues that I could try?

There is no known issues sending it to me would allow me to try it on my end and narrow down the issue to see it is it the image itself or YOUR account.

I only asked if it is worth sending as I tried multiple files so I can send you them all, but not sure how it would be the file, since I tried about 6 different files. I tried different file formats and pixel size.

I sent one, and just look at the properties of the pictures will tell you their size.

I had the same issues, shrinking mine down to 120x120. The forum software wouldn't accept the upload.

Got it thanks, apparently this is a broad issue that has othing to do with the image or the account, I am myself no longer able to change my avatar.

I will make a note in the mode room and see if we can get this corrected.

    Thanks.

Ah, now it's small enough but it keeps saying 'Invalid url'. Is www. after http:// a necessity? D:

Did you try to upload directly from your computer as well instead of using a link?

If yes and it does not work either I will get an admin to look into it for you.

Right now the easiest solution is to save the animated gif on your computer and upload it :gj:

<---- Just did it and it works.

Use this site http://ezgif.com/resize to resize it and the animation will work.
When you've selected your picture, click upload -> select the new width and height you want and click 'Resize it!'.

If it doesn't automatically scroll down, scroll down and you can see the details under the new picture. Remember to look at the file size that it's not over 150kb!

    Hope that worked. :)
