    Jamaican Boa Update
Here are some update pictures I took of one of my Jamaican boas! This little one is a few days shy of 5 months old, weighing in at 19 grams, and feeding on f/t mouse pinks.

It is neat to see that some of the pattern is already starting to darken on the last half of the body!

Thank you! It is still too small to sex, but it is the bigger of the 2 I have. The other one is on chick thighs still, and is probably about 15 grams.

Thanks! They go through a pretty radical color change, usually as adults they have a yellow or orange base, with about half their body being mostly black and super iridescent!

Here is a random Google image of an adult, unfortunately I don't have photos of the parents. However, I have 2 litter mates, and a good friend of mine also has 2 and she is in the same city as me, so it will be really interesting to see the differences between these 4!

    Anyways, random Google image!

I really like the bright red orange color, and it would be interesting to watch the color transformation, like a GTP.

Are there any extra hatchlings/clutch mates available?

Not sure if any are... They were produced by The Snake Farm, and we acquired them through a friend of a friend who purchased a group of them directly from The Snake Farm.... lol I can keep an eye out.

Oh... Besides a tour I've never really spoken to them about business related stuff. Although my friend donated a Burmese to them... $5 a foot they paid hah

No problem! They can be very difficult to get thriving. I'm lucky that both are doing well for now. The one in this thread is on unscented mouse pinks, and the other is still on day old chick thighs.

What's the process for prepping the chick thighs?

After I thaw the chick, I use kitchen shears to cut the leg off as close to the torso as possible, and then cut again right at the knee joint. I cut off both legs, freeze the thigh I don't need until the next feeding, and then rotate through the boas with who gets a chick for a snack :)
