If there was no way to the snake to get out there should be obvious evidence of the cat getting in.

Did you sift through the substrate to check for burrowing? Or check the INSIDE of the decorations?

Sorry for your anxiety and hassle. :( Hope all turns out well.

They jam themselves into the oddest places - even when inside the enclosure.
I was SURE one of mine had escaped. Nowhere to be found, yet the top had been securely latched. Still, not there is... NOT THERE! :confusd::O By this time, I had taken everything out.

He was soaking under the pebbles that filled an extra water dish I had included to boost the humidity. Black pebbles, black snake. He looked a bit annoyed at the disturbance.

If the cat is well fed I doubt that s/he ate the snake. Cats love to torment small critters and bugs by "playing" with them until they are dead or close to it.:8:

OTH, if the cat was real hungry then it could be a different story. :please:

They are little worms, what substrate do you use? Did you go through all of it carefully? I once thought my BP escaped but he was under the waterbowl the whole time :snake:

Obviously, a good practice is to check the latches (or what ever secures the top/door) when leaving the enclosure. However, I also think it its a good practice to check the latches before going into the enclosure. If the latches were secure before going in, the snake must still be in there.

I have a hard time imagining a cat would properly replace the entry to any cage.

I'm not sure how he even would of gotten out before I left he was in there I left for the night and some how the cat snuck in. I've been looking all round the room and everything. The vents are to small for him to get into the air vents. Any tips for finding a loose snake?

Re: I think my sister cat ate my kingsnake
Update: I looked at all the possibility and from inside the cage it can't be opened but from the top it was easy to push so I think the cat pushed it open a bit to try and get him and when he came out she ate him

Have you seen a carcass or blood? Any foul smell? There's usually some evidence of deadly deeds. It may be against the odds but I hope you find him.

Do you have pictures of the enclosure? That might help us figure this out for you :)

The cat is kinda like a barn cat and we wasn't very big he still fit in the palm of my hand so I think she just ate him

If it did indeed get out of it's tank, and the cat didn't eat it, check places that would give off heat that the snake might have went to for warmth. Back when I had my old BP years ago, the few times he got out, I always found him either hanging out behind my desktop computer or TV, sources that were giving off some form of heat. Might be worth a look.
