Help me name my Girl!!

So I have been thinking about it all night, what I am going to name my new girl??! My fiance this morning mentioned I should ask you guys for ideas??

Any Suggestions???

I tried to put in a poll but I did not finish it in less then 10 minutes. These were my opinions for voting.

1. Cleo short for Cleopatra
2. Athena
3. Skittles
4. Other/ Suggestions

Athena sounds good to me, but i'm a NOBODY on this site so my opinion doesn't matter too much..

understood, just that if MY opinion mismatches anyone else's i seem to get extra amounts of dislikes that's why my REP points is in the RED..:(

Mstuppiello921 then under is where it says "Registered User" then a green box under that.. Yours is green but mine is red with all the dislikes i been getting on here..

But anyways the name ATHENA just matches her color, that's why i picked that name..:gj: :gj:

Got ya! Thanks! And my fiance and I are stuck between Athena and Cleo. I like Athena and she likes Cleo. She originally hated snakes and never wanted me to get one. But after i pick up our first girl, she's quickly warming up [emoji1]

what is the big deal, why can't it be talked about in a public topic.. it's not like everyone can't see the colors/green or red boxes..i gave my SNAKE NAME opinion, and it branched off that..

A name is a very personal thing and is really just for you as the snake isn't going to know what its name is. I'd vote you take a week and get to know your snake and hopefully a name will start to stick. Both my snakes went through a range of names in the first week or so before I settled on the one I liked most.

Thats a good point, I never thought of it that way, but it makes complete sense. I will tell you though, this whole first ball experience has been really exiting. I haven't had a new type of pet in about 10 years or so.

I like Athena, too. Somehow it seems like Athena is a good name for a lighter snake (as Athena is given the epithet "glaukopis" or something like 'gray-eyed', 'shimmery-eyed', 'glaring-eyed' which shares a root with the word "glaux", meaning "owl," which as you may know is her symbolic animal).

Of course, Cleo (from the Greek kleos/cleos roughly meaning 'renown' and relating to ideas of glory and fame) is also an excellent name. It just doesn't have the same specificity as Athena has to me.

Sorry I nerded out, I'm a Classics major and always love to share what I'm learning about Greek and Latin stuff :D Whatever you decide to name her, I hope you enjoy having her!

Cristacake, you never have to apologize for "nerding" out to me. Im a science teacher with a degree in biomechanics (concentration in physics) currently obtaining my masters degree, so my whole life is a "nerd" out haha. This is a very informative post, I learned quiet a bit from it actually. Thank you for your opinion.

i think "Cleopatra Caramel Glow" rolls off the tongue very nicely.

Just when I thought Athena was it.....Im back to square one cause Cleopatra the Caramel Glow sounds awesome!

Many ancient religions before the main religions were formed worshipped snakes as divine or knowledgable and full of wisdom. Maybe picking one that curtails to you and naming your snake after the pagan/god would fit. I guess that depends on preferences for complex/simple names but just giving some input.
