    Fall is a fun time!
In the hopes of producing some redder snakes out of a non-red T-, I'm pairing my boy with my Marter line girl. I tried last year- he tried, but he was on the young side and nothing happened.

I'm hoping for better luck this year, since they are locked up. I tried more for comparison shots showing the color difference.

congratulations, sounds like a good plan, it'll take a couple of generations but what the heck you've got plenty of time. I can't wait to see the babies. :gj:

I won't really need that much time. I have a decently red 2012 het T- girl that I will breed next year if she gets up to size. Currently, she's still too small by a lot. I try to feed her up, but she seems to just keep getting wider instead of bigger. :D

Well, if Marter doesn't get the red going, I don't know what will!

Here you go! I took her out for one tonight, and even though she's been refusing food off and on the past few months, her bottom half is filling out a lot. It's hard to see in the picture, but I'm hopeful!
Thanks again for this girl, Kevin! She did end up settling in well.

She looks great you've done a fine job with her that's the way an adult Blood python should look symmetry wise and from the looks of that last pic you posted she will be starting her pre lay shed here pretty soon.

Somebody decided to surprise me early tonight. I thought she was getting lumpy...
Don't mind the bad cell pic. I didn't want to bug her too much until I prepped the incubator, so she needs to be on them for a day or two. Also, my actual computer died and the new one arrives this week.

Congratulations, can you tell how many eggs are there yet?

Nope. One was outside the coils, so I took that one and set it up temporarily. It still had veins, but was 82 so we'll see. A little time on the cool end is still probably better then them getting too hot. I couldn't sleep in today. Too much to do!

I got my new laptop and was able to pull pics off my camera. There were 15 total, but I checked tonight and the one that wasn't in the coils didn't make it. I might loose a couple more. They were stacked up, but not stuck together - when I took her off the eggs, a few kind of tumbled down a bit. I tried to figure out which side was down for a couple in question, but may have been wrong on at least one more. They were a little dehydrated, but look better now.

Second (and last) clutch of the season - red bull line female, with 13 fertile eggs and 2 slugs.
She was also paired with the T- male.

I figured I'd add some pics.
Here's a runt that had the cord wrapped around its body and didn't get much/any yolk. It's feisty, so I hope it starts feeding quickly - it's only 30 grams.

Well, the runt is doing great and eating F/T, which surprised me. I'm keeping her.

    Other favorites from this clutch:

7/10 of these guys are now on F/T rat pinks/fuzzies, 2 are on live mouse hoppers, and one is being stubborn. Clutch 2 had two babies go to term, then die, and one died about 5 days after coming out of the egg. The rest look good, but only one took F/T. I'll need to buy more mice.

I didn't get better pics of clutch 2 yet. I took some while setting them up, but don't want to stress them prior to getting them to feed.

    Here's one I really like.

Also got a wonky kinked one. After a week, this one's still swollen were I thought it was just yolk. You can see the kink starting right before the swelling. If it's otherwise okay and starts eating and does fine, I'll need to find it a pet home. I like the striping toward the end of its tail.

Comparison of the coloration of the babies from the two clutches. The first clutch is dark, but the babies were on average smaller. Mom's smaller, too.

Well, I think a small group of us are getting a table at Tinley, otherwise just local shows and online. I kind of prefer to sell locally if I'm able to to avoid the stress of shipping, but I know I'll need to do it.
