I thought lemonblast too, but it doesn't look like the right color. Maybe in a better light?

The snake has a nice blushing on the head and soft yellow on the body. Typically just plain spinners will also have reduced pattern, more brown, and a very thin eye stripe. I'd call this a Pastel pin

Nice pickup. I too would say lemonblast.

Are you sure of its sex?

With this being a pet store pickup I sincerely hope you have some sort of quarantine process for it. Unlike your other new addition back in July.

I pop mine out of the egg.

They tend to be easier to pop when they are younger and more "squishy". However if you don't know what you are doing, I would urge to find someone who does, if you do it wrong you could severely injure the animal. I've been keeping snakes for 10 years, and still don't fully trust myself.

Where in your dwelling are you keeping the new snake? It may be in its own container but, if its still within close proximity of the others, that kind of voids out the quarantine process. Make sure its at least in a separate room.

understood, but i live in a STUDIO apt, so not too many places to quarantine him..

Then I would really reconsider buying any more new snakes.

I mean this in the nicest way possible. It is impossible to know where that new snake came from. And if could carry a number of bad things. That is why there is a quarantine of new animals.

I've seen people lose everything because of a bad, or no quarantine process. And as much as we have not gotten along in the past, I would truly hate to see something bad happen to your collection.

If I may ask, how much did you shell out for this guy?

I'm asking because pet stores tend to inflate the prices by a lot; a normal will cost $69.99 at a pet store, but yet $20.00 at a reptile show.

Lemon blast definitely, a spinner would have a different pattern on it's head and a regular pin wouldn't be that color or have head blushing like that. Nice price on one, too, since I usually see them between 100-200. What pet store did you get it from?

Definitely a lemonblast (pastel + pinstripe). Good price on it, too. Where did you find it?

You can sex babies either by popping or probing. I prefer popping and do so on babies right out of the egg but as was mentioned earlier, it can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Are there any local ball python breeders that might sex it for you? Do you have any reptile specific shops in your area? Some shops offer sexing as a service so that may be an option.

Do be sure to quarantine any new additions. You don't want to put your existing snakes at risk for illness or parasites by skipping that step. It might seem tedious but it's incredibly important.
