Picked up Amber's future boyfriend...this little guy is a 4 month old male

He'll get an identical AP cage to stack like Amber's as soon as he's big enough and their waitlist goes down a bit.....

Cold Creek Manor
congrats! i cant wait until i pick up my girl a b/f!

Is it me, or does he look sorta fat in the first pic? lol
-
The guy I got him from is a co-worker of mine who also breeds ball pythons. He feeds his BP's pretty aggressively, and fed this guy a small rat last week. I, on the other hand, will be feeding him rat crawlers instead until he gets a little bigger. Thats what happens when you feed young bp's rats over mice......rats, especially pups and crawlers, tent to fatten them up like crazy....
-
Yea, I was gonna say, he looks a little fat for his size...lol. How long is he? I have a 5 month old thats about 17 inches, and he eats adult mice (frozen). I also have a 4 month old thats about 19 inches, and eats adult mice. (P.S. I dunno why the 4 mo old is bigger than the 5 month old, guess they all grow differently)

How handsome!!!! Fat for his size? No way!!!! That's what young balls are supposed to look like .... healthy little chubsters! That guy was a great feeder just like his sisters.
Brad, did you get the genetics paperwork and original feed card with him? If not, shoot me an e-mail, I can get it out to you if you're interested.
Keep me posted on how he does, I love hearing about how my kids are doing once they've left the nest!

Yes Mike did give me the paperwork, I have forgotten to take it home like the last 3 nights I've been there DOH! But yeah he's a little hissy right now, guess he's just getting used to the new setup. Either way, he's a really good lookin little guy! He'll be due to eat on thursday so I'll let you know how it goes!
-
Cute little guy! He does look a bit plump; even his little head looks kinda fattie! But I always like when they have a chunky appearance; shows that they are feeding well.

Are you sure they are suppose to look like that. I mean I amnot really that familiar with them, but to be that doesn't look like it would be an effectvely mobile snake in the wild. Of course a little chubbyness is good to keep them healthy, but I don't know about that guy....
-
Yes, I am very sure .... I have a little bit of experience with raising ball pythons.
Don't worry, they are just as mobile like that as they are at any other size.

Yep, looks like my 4 month old lil girl. Fat as all get out. She will be getting some rats as soon as she finishes off all of these darned mice in my freezer. Elevate, he's a pretty little guy, maybe you'll be able to prove him out when he gets older :)

congrats on the addition, cool snake
