Need opinions here
Pairing was Pastel x Ivory
Results were 0.2 Yellowbelly and 1.2 Pastel Yellowbelly
One yellowbelly is perfect, pictured first (should I keep her?) But check out the last pastel yellowbelly female. I honestly do not see the typical yellowbelly in her. Do you? She is awsome and I think the mother has an extra gene that is in this female (pictured last) but could that hide the yellowbelly belly? Need lots of opinions plz!

Re: Need opinions here
Can you post pics of the parents? I don't think the YB is hidden in the last one, I think it isn't there. However, I agree there may be another gene at play. What was the pairing that created the Ivory?

I agree the first yellowbelly is beautiful.
And the last pastel yb, wow. I almost thought (as a novice)that maybe your ivory was a pastel ivory and she was super pastel yb. ... but her head doesn't seem to be blushed enough to be super pastel.
Crazy cool, great clutch. And good luck figuring out what's in her.

Okay. I do not know about the ivory I did not ask. However, I do not think the ivory has the extra gene. I think it is the pastel. This is her third clutch and all three have had very interesting babies. I held many of them back and this year I will try to pair her with a male that I held back from last year.
Mom at about 2000 grams (left) next to a very nice regular pastel (right) and super pastel daughter from 2 years ago pictured at around 600 grams which I held back because I think she has the extra gene.

Here is the Ivory pictured with the super pastel female that I retained and a mochi.

And here are three that I held back from last years clutch that I think also have the extra gene. (These three are pictured here in the 800 gram range)
Female Pastel

Female Black Pastel

And the real stunner. Male Black Pewter

I also retained a female pewter but I do not think she has the extra gene. (no flash) Male on the left, female on the right.

That last baby actually looks more like a super pastel than a yellowbelly to me also. I do not see pastel in the ivory and she has not been paired with a pastel gene male since 2012 and has has two clutches since that pairing so retained sperm would be a really long stretch. At the moment I am assuming that the last baby pictured is a pastel yellowbelly with the extra gene and the belly looks atypical due to the extra gene.

Re: Need opinions here
Now that I have seen the 800 gram Pastel and the pewter, I'm thinking you have something like the vanilla gene going on in your big Pastel girl. All of them look like I would expect a snake with Vanilla in it to look. I would throw a fire to the Female Pastel and see what comes of it. If it is the vanilla gene or something of the same complex, you may produce some Screams which would be cool. Worst case scenario she throws some Fireflies with a little extra sumpin sumpin.

I would keep the first yb and not any of the pastel yb. Even though those pastel ybs are nicer than average, a single gene yb as hot as that first one is going to look sooooo much better as an adult than any or all of those pastel ybs. :gj:

Maybe. After her first clutch, I had a good idea something was going on. I thought maybe a yb complex. So, I bought an ivory and waited. I was a little disappointed when there were no white snakes. My next effort to figure her out was going to be a fire morph. However, since I do not have fire in my collection, I decided it may just as well be that I pair her with her son, the black pewter. I would love a vanilla scream in my collection! She was the first in my current collection, so I am happy she has something extra! Also, out of 3 clutches, she has only had one normal baby. I like those odds too:gj:.

Thank you. I really like the first YB also. She took a rat pink just after the first shed and eats GREAT!! However, my collection has grown so much an I have no plans for a single gene YB. The only reason I am even considering keeping the last baby is because she looks so odd, like she has an extra gene, and I am not quite sure what that gene is yet. So, the single gene YB is for sale. Although, I will not be too disappointed if no one wants her!
