Introducing Felix
Felix came home today. He's adjusting to his new space, but I grabbed a couple of shots before I left him alone to acclimate.

They are such a cool snake. I really thought they were going to gain more popularity as morphs were surfacing. Anyone know if a T-Albino ever hit the scene?

I know! I've wanted one since I saw one at the last Repticon. I'm guessing they never caught on because they're not exactly a cuddly creature.

What kind of snake is he, may I ask? I don't recognize it.

Never too late to jump back in to the ATB world:)

Very nice, especially now that he's shed out. :gj:

That's right! You saw him while looking gross. The snake, not you.

Not that I am aware of. I know there was an albino once but never heard of it breeding, got a photo saved of that somewhere. I know there were supposed hypos/leucy ATBs but don't know if it was ever proven out 100%. I lost track of a lot since the amazon alliance website shut down, apparently moved to FB but I'm not on there so I am out of the loop now. If you hear any news, I'd love to hear it.

I love my ATBs. They are the fish of the trees. Beautiful and interesting to behold but not something you want to touch very much.

Congrats on awesome snake Dave!

Re: Introducing Felix
Cheeky little booger has more or less settled in. He's not sure about being arboreal though. There is a hollow in the log that is on his floor that he spends the day in, and comes out at night. So much for my display animal. If I had known he'd do that, I might have just gotten another Ball Python! At least he's comfortable.

Aww you didn't know? Shoot. Yeah the majority of amazons will stay on the floor of the cage during the day. I give mine hides and generally they will use the hides. Not all the time and not all amazons will but it is common for them to do that. I have a few that will stay out and sleep up on the perches a lot, generally when there is a large perch/platform area to rest on and the young ones will do this if there is leaf cover over the perch area. I assume you have crossing branches or thick grapevine? That usually works best. If you want a display that will hang out on the perch during the day, GTP or ETB will be the better way to go.

Re: Introducing Felix
All very true. I have the crossing branches and all the foliage he could want. As for ETBs and GTPs, maybe later. This is my first arboreal species that I've personally owned. I've worked with ETBs in the past, but that was 20 years ago. Figured I'd go with something smaller for now.
EDIT TO ADD: This is not meant to imply that I am in no way unhappy with him. He's still a very cool snake.
