Oh god, it's yet another 'look at my dinker' thread!
Yes, I know, normal until proven otherwise. And that's where I'm looking for advice for that point, 2 or 3 years hence. What morphs should I try her against? And if she is indeed just the prettiest normal EVER, what morphs do you think she'd be good to pair her with to 'improve' them? I'm thinking cinnamon and mojave, but I'm still a relative newb to ball python morphs (corn snakes are SO MUCH SIMPLER GUYS OMG).

Technically? She's a captive hatched import from Africa, but was sold as a likely genetic prospect.

Looks black pastel/cinnamon-esque to me. I'd start there for pairings. Breed her with a super for better odds!

When I looked at the first pic I thought Black pastel right away. I would go with black pastel or leopard with this one. Did the seller mention sub Saharan to you at any time? :O Nice pickup!

Nope. No mention of sub-saharan. Just a captive hatched baby that he thought looked like cinnamon, but with enough differences that he didn't want to outright call it one. Even if she's just a new line of cinny, she is absolutely stunning to me.

I like dinkers and have a few (5-6) and that is a great pickup. But I might suggest a different breeding path. Don't pair it with things that are "like" it. Pair it with something that strongly reacts to the gene you think it is. For instance, Stranger and Lesser react, producing a easily identifiable snake. If I had a CH import I thought was a Stranger I'd test that by breeding it to a Lesser and see if I get the same reaction. If you think it is a new line of Cinnamon then breed it with something that makes a distinctive Cinnamon X snake. Then if you don't get that you rule out it being a Cinnamon.

She is sexy and my first thought was Cinny.
Find a combo you like and get to work LoL

She's beautiful! My first thought was cinnamon or black pastel, but I'm not very familiar with either.

If'n you guys don't mind me asking, what are you seeing that makes you think black pastel? The ones I'm used to seeing typically have the extra squiglys and few floaty donuts. Is it her overall darkness?

That's a very pretty little one there. I think the head looks more like a cini to me. I have a cini that is really dark like her too, always mistaken for black pastel due to her dark black color. I'd look for a combo male that has either Cini or Black Pastel along with yb. Its amazing how often these imports are unlocked with either a yb or BEL complex animals. Congrats

The times I wanted to prove a gene out I always paired to a proven normal, then breed back to the "odd"
I do not know if this is normal practice but my thoughts are that if you know what one snake will produce (hence a proven normal)
and you get something that isnt normal, well then you have a genetic trait, unless it is recessive
Then to prove a super form or simple recessive you would breed a hold-back back to the original
After proven out I worry about what steps to go next
Regardless on what you breed to she is a very pretty snake and good luck

Try cinnamon and black pastel and black back lace I think it was and theirs a few others that all display that pattern but yours does have some nigh white on its sides

I would try a Mojave Yellowbelly. Savannahs (Mojave Cinnamons) are very distinct, so if this girl is in the Cinnamon complex, a Blue Eyed Leucustic (BEL) gene should help reveal that. If this girl is in the BEL complex, Mojave should show that too. Yellowbelly is also another gene that is good at revealing genes, so having Yellowbelly would help. If you could add in a third gene, I would add in Fire to cover the Black Eyed Leucustic complex. Finding a male Fire Mojave Yellowbelly might be a little difficult, but either a male Mojave Yellowbelly or a male Fire Mojave Yellowbelly would be my suggestion.

That's a cinni. I would pair her to your favorite cinni compliment. Mojave and pastel would be on my list.

I'd start with pairing with a black pastel, cinnamon or a pastel. If whatever she is doesn't react with one of those go from there. She's an absolute stunner. Super jealous!
