Letting out A LOT of air?

I'm still new at owning ball pythons and I've tried googling every possible thing I can think of for my problem but I can't find any in formation.
What happens is my ball python seems to be letting out a lot of air? I hear no wheezing or anything and he doesn't open his moth when he does it. It seems to just be coming out of his nose?

He doesn't do it all the time and it happens when I hold him sometimes or just when he's in his cage I can hear him releasing air. It makes me think of what a whale does.

Any ideas or need more information please help!!

They do it. Their lung runs down a large part of their body so sometimes handling makes them breath heavily.

You're right in that whistling, bubbles, or wheezing can signal an Upper Respiratory Infection. If you don't see/hear any of those, and it's just exhalation, then all is well.

Yeah I've made sure when he does it there is nothing else so I don't think he has an infection. If it's just him breathing deeply and that doesn't mean anything bad then..I'm glad! I just never heard this before with my other snakes but it's only been roughly a year with them all haha.

It does not sound like hissing I know they do that and I know what it sounds like.
This just sound like he is blowing out a lot of air like he is sighing or its forced.

That's basically the sound I'm referring to. Kind of like an "I'm annoyed and I'm going to let you know, but I'm not annoyed enough to really do anything about it right now" sound. It's different than a warning hiss, but still I'd call it a hiss.

Exactly as Eric said. I have a few that will always hiss, but never bite (but ALWAYS hiss) :) .

Yep! Just like that. The sound you hear is air coming through their nostrils.

Haha... It's the BP way of saying, "Not tonight, I have a headache...":rofl:

ALSO: I've read that snakes can also push air out of their vents when irritated? Like anger farts?
