Tips on LURING a missing snake out??
My absolute favorite snake has escaped and I'm worried sick! I've looked for him everywhere, but he either got out of the house somehow or he's INSIDE something I can't get into.
Does anyone have any tips on LURING him out of his hiding spot??
(If it helps, he is definitely hungry)
(Sorry if this thread isn't in the right section)

Last night I put a mouse in critter keeper in one room, with a ring of sugar around it. The next day the sugar had been un disturbed. So yes, I'll probably try putting one in every room

Where in the room have you been putting the mouse? In the middle, in a corner, along a wall?

Last night was the first night I tried that trick. I put it in a corner of the room, right next to the closet (in case the snake was in the closet)

Re: Tips on LURING a missing snake out??
So sorry he went missing! I absolutely know the feeling bc a Arizona mountain kingsnake that I bought for my wife escaped on 9-9-15. We just purchased her the prior Sunday at the White Plains show. I did find her the same day. Anyhow, my recommendation is to turn off all the lights and of course, the tv and radio. Keep a flashlight in your hands and remain absolutely quiet. Good luck too!!!:)

I did something similar, and used a line of stacked of coins (4 or 5 high) along the walls where I thought he'd travel. It works because you can see the coins that are disturbed, and if awake you will hear them get knocked over when it happens.

This is also a great idea!

I found my bp by setting my alarm for 4AM and getting up then. He'd been missing for about 48 hours and I have literally no idea where he was- we tore that room apart! All the same, I found him that night :snake:

Yay!! Keep everyone updated on how he's doing. :)

My guy has been missing for about a week now. Tomorrow we are RIPPING THE HOUSE APART. Me and 3 other people. If we still don't find him I'll set up more rodent scented hides to draw him out.

Don't lose hope, they are extremely resilient creatures for how precise we are about their husbandry. They are very very good at hiding too.
A ball python escaped from its cage at our local pet store. After a week spent searching, the owners gave it up as stolen. They found it in the store, two months later, seemingly fine and it bounced right back with no problems.

Oh there would be no point in that. If he is outside he's dead. It's getting colder here, about low 70's during the day and mid/low 50's at night.

I've had a few people tell me similar stories, where they lost their snake and found it MONTHS later. If I can't find him Im hoping he magically reappears in a few months

Help for another missing BP
Hey good people, fascinating forum you have here ! I have been helping people for 15 years find their missing pets and right now trying to help a good friend of mine on the east coast with her now missing young female BP.
She went missing about 500 feet from their driveway around a group of sheds and garages. Yes she can get inside a couple of them and under them. The entire rural neighborhood is looking for her, and so far my remote viewing skills seem to be limited, lol. The only other missing snake case I have ever had was missing inside of her own house.
They scared up a good mouse nest inside one of the sheds, so ground hunting may be good for little girl here, my question is would she be likely to climb up any of the surrounding trees ? Up along the ledges of the inside of the sheds if there are any ? Evidently the sheds are loaded with stuff, should I suggest they put in critter keepers in all of the sheds ?? Not kidding these folks are almost camped out in the area of the sheds and nada zip on seeing her, any suggestions any of you have would be very appreciated.
Thank you, thank you,
Olivia

I'm really hoping that happens to me too! We looked everywhere, but came to the conclusion that he must have gotten into the walls or the floors. He'll just have to come out on his own.

Best idea is to wait till it's been dark for an hour or 2, walk around the house slowly with a flashlight.
