needs to be a little taller in my opinion. generally for a male the minimum cage requirements are 48x24x24

yepp...from caresheets it is...but if you ask me, if your able to get him/her out everyday to stretch and exercise, you should be fine with that

aside from the caresheets if you are going to get a cage from boaphile just ask jeff what he recommends. he has alot of expierence with boas and would help you out. you are probably going to have to phone him i don't think he answers emails fast.

How about the ball room rack? The one that says:For Adult Ball Pythons and Boids up to 6 ft.

How long could I keep a boa in one of those if i feed it regularly and give it right sized food?

    feeding too often?
I am figuring on building custom enclosures for both my Boa and Carpet when they are adults consdering they will be 8" and 9" long.

hmmm, i was thinking about that cage for my boa also, exept without the hidebox in it. If anything, I will get the one that is 17.5 inches high, but my boa is NEVER in her branch anyways

Juvinile BCI will climb if given the chance, older boas will not! 12" tall is fine I use this size for my adluts and it is perfect.. But then again I have to make room for lots of them in a small room... 24" caging just makes it harder to heat.. A 4 foot cage will last you for a long long time if not forever. Another option is to get the cage at 4' and add an expandable end so as the boa grows if you want to extend the cage yo can do that then. Save the up front expense.
