Gwnyvere
Or Gwny for short. I wanted to name her Pochi, but my fiance wanted something more dignified lol. I think I got the most docile baby ball ever. She was born this May, and is already super tame. She just lays in your hand. Hilariously the opposite of Orochimaru. I don't think she knows what stress is. No heavy breathing or hissing after an almost two hour car ride. She hasn't shown any interest in hides, is just laying on top of one basking. My dad was very confused, he asked why she wasn't hiding lol. Unfortunately she does have a bit of the spider wobble. It doesn't appear to affect her much, I've only seen it happen if she lifts too much of herself up and backwards. Even though she's 100 grams and Orochimaru was 90 when I got him, she feels smaller to me. Here's my little Mojave Bee.

Re: Gwnyvere
Good looking snake. Don't let the wobble throw you. Nora has a bit of one. It's really jut a bit of her personality though. Nothing like a BP that will :cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r: it's head sideways like a dog when it looks at you. My only real suggestion is during feeding time get the prey very close to her. The wobble shows up most when they are excited, and can throw the strike off target. A mouth full of rodent is much better than a mouth full of substrate. Congrats on the new addition!

X2, I learned this when I got my Spinnerblast. Definitely use feeding tongs instead of your hand, too. :)

XD Its a Rams helmet snack bowl that I used for a water bowl. When she cork screwed and dunked her head in I got paranoid she would get stuck in there and drown. Went to the store and got a dog bowl lol. I actually got her dunking her head on video, will have to post it.

Yeah I got the really long tongs lol, and will try to switch her to f/t after a couple meals.

:hijackd: Sorry about this but I need to know...what's with the censored word in my post? There was nothing there.

Took me a minute to figure out what word you were using :P
Probably auto-censored by whatever programming code powers the forums due to a certain other usage for that word.

XD Guess they want you to use "tilt" instead of the word that starts with a "c" and ends with a "k". I knew what you meant though lol.

Made Gwny some smaller hides out of the plastic bowls you can get at walmart in the paper plate section. I think its like 28 for 2 and some change, so really cheap hatching hides. I decided to use one for Orochimaru too, but I stacked three so they would be sturdy enough to support his weight.
I fed Gwny a rat pinkie today. I know its pretty early to try a feeding, but my gut was telling me that she was hungry. Plus she doesn't seem phased at all by her move. She still won't go in the hides, prefers to wrap around them or curl up under leaves. She hasn't done any frantic cruising, really doesn't move much at all. When I got home from work she was in the same exact spot, pretty sure she had been sleeping the entire time. I felt like she didn't have enough energy, and looks a bit thin to me. I've also noticed that the feel of her body is way different than Orochimaru's. She's soft and squishy where he feels more firm and muscled. I read that a lot of that has to do with how tense the snake is. Guess Gwny is just super duper mellow. I was right, she snatched the pinkie up. She got very close to it before striking, and still grabbed the body instead of the neck. I felt really bad because this messed up her coil and she wasn't strangling the pinkie. She readjusted probably three times, but the pup still wouldn't die. She ended up actually uncoiling, grabbing the pinkie by the throat and kind of moving her head around like she was trying to break its neck or crush its lungs, but it did work. Want to get her switched to f/t asap since she has such a hard time killing just a pinkie.

That was her third wrap, I thought for sure that would do it too. Not sure what happened.

Weighing in at 105 grams now. And she's using her hides now. Gwny is so sweet. When you get close to the tank she comes out of her hide to see what you're doing and if you're going to take her out. She likes to crawl up my arm, didn't think it would tickle so much.

I think it's better she pees on your pants rather than that new looking carpet.
Glad to hear she's eating well too. :gj:

Had a funny experience the feeding before last. As soon as I put the rat in Gwny's tub a gnat flew in and landed on the paper towel. I thought if I smushed it real quick she wouldn't react in time to strike me. I learned that snakes are way faster than me lol. I think she was hangry lol. She missed the wrap because I flinched back, then started coming out of the tub after me. I had to herd her back in with the lid. It was very unnerving to have my most docile snake trying to eat me lol. When she saw the rat she ate it right away and went back to being her normal self lol. She had a perfect shed on 11/28 and is now at 180 grams.

This girl is getting huge, 927 grams. On live rat pups now and takes them immediately. Her last shed was 8/4/16.

Gwnyvere is by far my biggest snake now, at 1812g on 1/26/17. Last shed was 1/18/17. The biggest news is that I started pairing her to Jiraiya on 1/26/17! And they were already locked together on 1/27/17!
