MK Morphs 2016 Breeding Season
We are kicking things off a little early for this coming season! Our move from Florida to Texas was this past January and it threw a wrench in our plans, but we are expecting a small clutch here in the next few days from our lesser x enchi pairing, so it looks like that is all for 2015!
We had some rain here last night and I thought that was the perfect opportunity to get things started.
I introduced males last night, and this morning we had our first confirmed lock, and two that were close!
1st confirmed lock of the 2016 season was our 1st generation RDR lesser male to our pastel hypo female.

Pastel super vanilla x yellowbelly poss fire, looked close, but I can't be certain.

Banana x pied. This girl just went clear, and this male knows what he is doing, so I'm pretty sure he sealed the deal later that night.

Correct me if i'm wrong but you can only get a het pied or a banana het pied from that last crossing correct? Just thinking how cool a banana pied would be.

That is correct! We are going to hold back a male banana het pied (maybe 2, just in case something happens) and shoot for banana pieds down the road!

Thanks, Travis! It is going to be a long road to get the visuals I want, but what is the fun in instant gratification?

nice,
good start of the season,
wish I was so lucky...
introduced 3 males this morning (europe) cause it was gonna rain during the day (I know it might be better to introduce them in the evening but forecasts where that it was gonna be dry in the evening and night)
and when I just came home none of them where locked, my Clown male was close with my Orange Ghost female but the other 2 males where not even laying close to the female...
the whole "I didn't change anything, just put in the male" thing doesn't seem to work for me somehow.... even though it has been getting cooler in the snakeroom
-
Some very nice pairings and exciting projects. :gj:

I don't change anything either! Give it time. The season is just starting, and a lot of the time it can take a while to get in the swing of things. Are any of yours proven breeders? The majority of what I have breeding this year are first timers.

2 of the females are proven and 1 is a first time girl and that first time girl is my Orange Ghost who I am pairing up with the Clown and they where close to a lock
but 1 of the 2 has not been bred the last 2-3 years

If you have a male not breeding, do you stick him with another male to get him going?

She isn't too big. Only about 2400g now :)

Some people do, but personally I try other methods instead of having a possible fight between males. Rubbing a different male's sperm plugs on the female, putting another male's shed in with them, and I have found that my boys like girls that are in shed.

Re: MK Morphs 2016 Breeding Season
Soo I actually just read on another thread here that the "sperm plugs" are not actually sperm plugs, as BP's do not produce sperm plugs. I had no idea this is true??

Thank you! The female is a YB poss fire. I am 99% sure she will prove, but right now I'm mostly concerned with trying to prove her out as a fire yb :)

Re: MK Morphs 2016 Breeding Season
Hey guys! Just a few breeding updates for you. No ovulations here yet, but I suspect that my female POG will be the first to go! She is building nicely and still pounding food.
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/02...98e7e44500.jpg
This yellowbelly poss fire girl is also progressing nicely, and hope she will be getting ready to ovulate soon as well.
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/02...7e719c3612.jpg
My clown male still hasn't had a lock with this hypo girl. I need to up my game to try and get him interested!
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/02...29da2618ab.jpg
So we are still waiting on ovulations, but things should be picking up here soon in the next month or two!

nice pairings, I hope your Clown male will get his act together and joys you with a lock the next time he is with the Hypo female.

Re: MK Morphs 2016 Breeding Season
A few more locks this morning! Didn't take a pic of the pastel super vanilla x yellowbelly poss fire lock though.
Black pastel yellowbelly x firefly
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...1bc3d6bd22.jpg
RDR lesser x hypo pastel. This girl is probably going to be the first to ovulate for us. She is still pounding food though.

She is getting so thick!

Nice pairings, as you have seen in my thread I have had my first ovulation and pre-lay shed but I am not sure what to think of the other girls I paired but then again it is all new for me haha

This will be our 3rd season producing babies. Took last year off since the move from Florida to Texas fell right in the middle of breeding season. There is always something new to learn!
I currently am having issues with some older males that still have not bred for me. My 2012 clown wants nothing to do with the 2 girls I have ready for him!

Re: MK Morphs 2016 Breeding Season
A few more locks! Basically, my clown boy has no clue what to do with females. Which is unfortunate because we were hoping to finally start on our albino clown and hypo clown projects.
I read in a different thread that Deborah has had luck with putting 1.2 groups together, so I threw the albino in with the hypo and clown in an attempt to finally get some locks in!
Goldblush mojave x pastel

Banana x pied

Mojave het hypo x hypo mojave

Re: MK Morphs 2016 Breeding Season
All your pairings are amazing and I hope you get all the results you are hoping for. I'm digging that pastel super vanilla. I would be interested in the results from that pairing personally. Good luck with everything. Fantastic!

Any luck with throwing 1.2 together? I too am trying stuff like this, but it hasn't worked yet.

No luck. My virgin female Albino tail wags like crazy, the clown boy (2012 virgin) is clueless, and the proven hypo wants nothing to do with any of it lol

My 2014's will only breed with one female they like. They've been with 4-5 others and they're just not into it, haha.
