How many of us have asked for herps this X-Mas? And, if you have, do you know you are getting it for sure or have a hunch you will get it? What herp did you ask for and what influenced you to choose that herp?

I already know what I and my hubby are getting. My Dad is getting me a male mali uro. I cant wait, cause we are picking him up on Thurs. I chose a uro because they are so neat and I have been around them, love at first touch I tell ya! And Dad is getting my hubby a bearded dragon.. Bri has no idea yet, it is a good thing he dont read this forum  , hehehe. Bri fell in love with the bearded dragons, and has wanted one for a long time. Whats even cooler about that- Bri use to be a reptile hater, and has been converted by me and the kids. The beardie is the first herp he has ever said he really wants.... we pick up the beardie next Fri. So- I get to spend the week tweaking environments and such, I got it all covered too, Bri thinks I am the only one getting a herp for x-mas, so he thinks the 2 cages I have set up are for my tweaking purposes to make sure it is right before "the uro" comes home. And for me to run "testing" on which product/products will serve my purposes for the "uros" enviroment stability. I just love it when I can pull the wool over his eyes... hehe- and how many ppl would really believe that I am test running 2 enviroments for just one lizard?

I have not told my dad about my herp collection, and mom doesn't have any money, so I don't ask. I did however, ask my dad for something herp related - a drill :P I don't have one, and I know dad will get me a good one, and then I can build herp enclosures with it. I also wanted a digital camera for christmas, but that's the kind of thing I end up knowing more about than my parents, so either I don't ask, or they give me money towards it. I think I'd get some really weird looks from my dad and mary (his gf) if I asked for rubbermaids :P

I haven't really made my list out yet. I think I just want money, but I need come up with something small (probably a dvd) so my dad's gf can get me something. I'd ask my parents for the camera lens I'd really like for the camera I ordered, but it's really expensive, so I'm not asking for that.

I'm asking Carmen and Sandiego for more gecko eggs for the holidays, and for the ones that I have to hatch and be healthy. Sounds like everyone is looking for herpy holidays to me! :)

Today I asked my mom if she would take me to the petshop to get a herp habitat for Gidget, and she was like, why do you need another tank? I was like, well, Gidget and Techo are getting to big to be housed together in a teno gallon, and herp habitats come with almost all of the accessories. And she replied, you're not getting one of those, how do you know "Santa" isn't giving you a tank with all the accessories? And I was just like, ok, fair enough.

I asked for a crested gecko, but I doubt im getting it. 1.) My mom has NO idea where to get one. 2.) I think I'm getting something else.

I think my mom is getting me another leopard gecko, And thats why we need the new "tank" with all the accessories. There is a leo in the petshop, and I think shes getting it. Shes either getting me that, or a blood python. Or maybe she's trying to get my hopes up and disapoint me when i get an empty tank, I really hope it isn't the last one.

I have my list......but i know that i will be getting NOTHING on it (herp wise) ive reached my final limit of 3 snakes in the house. No more for now.

But i would love a male snake, either a corn or another ball around the same age as Roxy or Ruby, so i can breed later on down the road.

I didn't ask for any animals, since I know I wouldn't get it(Santa's having some financial issues. ;)). I did ask for a digital camera so I can finally get some nice pics of Pelota, and practice up on my photography I've been itching to do. And I asked for a rubbermaid and a larger heat pad. That's Pelota's X-Mas present I guess. ;)

i dropped a few hints in my husband's direction toward the idea of some red eyed tree frogs to keep gertie company since her enclosure has more than enough space for a few friends. :D

You know you're a herpoholic when your Christmas list has things like 'sexing probes' 'snake hook' and plastic containers on it.

I told my dad that all I want from him is for him to help me build a reptile rack. He said ok. (Yay!)

For our christmas we focus on Griffin. New toys etc, I was able to get him some science stuff consisting of a microscope etc (Little kids one), the higher ups at work grabbed a few things for our family out of a toy drive which was very sweet of them. I was thinking if I had the money I would work on getting Winslow some new tools, I know he needs all new saws, etc.
I'm hoping later this week we'll have some cash in the bank so we can decorate, small tree so on and so forth (No room in this house lolol)
It's going to be a nice holiday

Well, I already got half of what I asked for! This morning there were two healthy-looking fast little geckos in the container instead of big round eggs. :D :D :D

    Congrats Marla!
I constructed an early present for myself (and my boyfriend, really, because he will enjoy it as much as I will.) I set up a 45-g afrcan cichlid tank. Fish, I know; I am straying from the Herp Path a bit, but I really do not have the ability to get anymore herps right now. I have my hands full now taking care of them, breeding their mice/rats and cage cleaning! Not to mention the horse we are paying off that will move to our house this Spring.I would not dream of getting rid of anyone, but NO more new arrivals!
Unless someone wants to get me an albino male BP... then I would reconsider. :)

I only have five of them in the big 45g tank, and they are sometimes hard to find, especially when they're not awake yet in the morning. But I know they'll grow fast.
Ironically, the catfish I bought to keep them with, is from the same lake (Malawi) they're from. He really never comes out from behind the driftwood, so they don't notice him to bother him. But they love chasing each other around. No one picks on just one other fish, it's pretty much evenly distributed. :)

I'm asking for a ball pythons, it would be my first snake! In the past I have had a turtle, guine pig, tree frongs, and fish. I also have a dog now.

Gin, that's cool that you found another species from their natural environment to go with them. And that's good that you don't have a tank bully -- I hate that when that happens.
