    New snake price check!
I have a chance at a new snake today. She's beautiful and I'd like to have her. I'm just not sure about the price. She's a 2011 Super Black Pastel. Almost pure black with a white belly. Asking price is $600. I can't find any online so have nothing to compare her to. Anyone have an idea?

    Thanks,

    Dave

It's not a bad price IF the animal is a proven breeder and has a good size, now if it's a 2011 barely above a 1000 grams, never laid a clutch than this could mean that there are issues (poor picky feeder etc) and in that case, no it would not be a good price.

Hey. I'm not too sure about recently but when I was looking for them and super cinny's about a year and a half ago they were all mostly between $800 and $1100 depending on the usual factors: age, weight, proven breeder or not, etc. At the time I was looking to mix with my russo but pricing wasn't on my side. I wound up getting a cinny female het black back that I'm going to be pairing with my older cinny male this year. Hope this helps a bit.

Yeah I get that. She's good size. Round about 1800g. She's never been bred.

I would just double check the "never been bred" and make sure it wasn't a "never laid".
For a girl with that much weight, price is good.

I agree. Some people will sell "never laid" as "never bred." I'd ask questions about that.

And I appreciate it! This community has been great with all the information and advice from the members as I've gotten back into this hobby. I am picking her up this weekend and will post pics in accordance with traditions!

If she looks to be in good health and you feel comfortable with the person you're buying from go for it. I bought a 3600 gram virgin Pied female last year. The previous owner was into bigger snakes and only had her as a pet. He had a lot of good references, including some mutual friends. This girl gave me 8 perfect eggs with 4 pastel pieds and 4 pieds. So if you're feeling it and it works for what you want to breed in the future. Go for it.
