New Albino Burm
Hey Everyone,
Came across an albino male burm hatchling last week from a local breeder. The girlfriend gave me the nod, so we decided to make the commitment and picked him up. Temperament so far has been amazing, knock on wood. Pretty stark contrast to the retic.

Thanks! He was the 'runt,' and one of the last ones left.

LOL runts do grow up... eventually. He's a pretty boy.
Is that male SD still giving you problems? I thought you reported some progress was being made.
-
Yeah, he has already put on some size even in just a few feedings. I am always fascinated how incredibly fast these guys grow.
The dwarf retic is still pretty moody, but has shown some signs of coming around. Some handling sessions go better than others. We have had days where I handle him without getting tagged. The next day he tags me the second I get near him. I think the worst part about him is that he will bite even when he is out of the enclosure. He will be calm, and then suddenly lunge at my face.

Josh you have a real beauty there. Such gorgeous markings. Congrats!
I sure would like to see him progress and get prettier as he gets bigger.

Beautiful baby albino :):):)

Thanks Reinz! I'm planning on taking a picture every month for a couple years.

Beautyyyy. As hatchlings like this, their faces look a bit similar to ball pythons, which I didn't realize before. :P Does he have a name yet?

The thing is you have a lot of the snakes most people want or contemplate getting. Bad attitude but progressing means you are learning and reading the snake. He, the SD, may always be a little snappy, or maybe not but I'm betting you'll be able to read every mood to a T.
I'll be interested to see how the Burms turn out.
Hats off to you man! I think you'll be a good resource when people are looking for differences and similarities between certain species of snakes!

Thanks! Luckily my girlfriend has taken a liking to the snakes and has been really supportive. I almost passed out when she suggested we breed burms now.
She named the Burm Fred, after Fred Weasley in Harry Potter. I guess the whole ginger/albino thing made sense, haha. The retic's name is Victor Charlie, seeing as he's from Southeast Asia. I pray he fully calms down one day, but I will deal with whatever he turns out to be. Teeth are getting bigger and bites are getting worse. But I have heard that with size comes confidence in retics.

Not a great shot, but he is coming along nicely.

Fantastic pick up JS! He really looks super! Wish I had the space for one of the same. Soon.:gj:

Thanks! Once my gf and I got settled into our place, and decided we are now staying long term, it made it easier to make these decisions.
However, I am now apparently in charge of resurfacing the countertops and cabinets, painting the living room, kitchen and bedroom!
