i have a new clutch need help pricing
had a wonderful clutch of 8 eggs. the odd gods worked in my favor giving me some nice morphs. in total i got 3 lesser pastels 1 lesser 3 pastels and 1 normal. im keeping a few from the clutch but am selling the rest. i need to know what prices each morph goes for. mine are bright colors and beautiful patterns. everywere i go i find people posting differant prices some high some low. im selling some lesser pastels, lessers and pastels. what do these go for?

Personally I'd price them as what you think they are worth, at the end of the day you put the effort in to be able to produce them, if you have the space to keep until they are sold then be firm with your price, the right buyer will come along, unfortunately a lot of people nowadays are just looking at price rather than quality, but that's how I'd price hatchlings

There is a "market place" value for morphs but I am not actually sure how to access it. The other option is to look at what other breeders are charging for the same morphs. Compare and research the going prices. :)

Pastel and lessers probably no more then $150. Pastel lesser combo, about $200.

Looks like you have some good baselines for your prices from BCS and Deb... and as Jaimesniper said, price them according to what you think they're worth! :) Prices vary greatly depending on the quality of the animal... if you have beautiful parents, and the babies reflect that, price them accordingly, at the higher end for their variety :) Buyers who want quality are willing to pay for it.

deborah set the price a bit low: it s for average animals. stunners can go for more.
For example a stunning pastel girl can go for 150$ but a bad one for 50$. i guess a pastel lesser girl can go for more as well.

better to pay 50$ more for a stunning animal than 50$ less and get the bottom of the bag.

And for every stunner, there are a million average examples. The stunners don't set market value.

From my experience, most people want "x" morph and they want it as cheap as possible.

I am from Canada, which is why my pricing is a little higher. I bought my first snake two years ago. A lesser for $200....

I think deb hit it on the head for US price base... I posted my .1 lesser pastel at 150 and .1 lesser for 75 both are still in my rack. Sold a female pin last week from the same clutch for 65...and I was asking 75.... Granted these are the first snakes i have ever produced and sold.....the longer you hold on the more food they eat and eventually you will put more $ in rats into the snake than you can sell it for....I set my prices about 25 $ higher than my actual want so I can always throw a deal for multiple snakes.

Very nice pics. If a seller can't provide pics like this I usually don't even bother. IMO a seller with crappy pics is a warning sign of things to come...

I totally agree that if you are really going to get into selling stuff you produce a good quality camera is very important. I have never sold but I can tell you as a buyer if I see not so great picks I will keep scrolling down the page until I see a good pick. A great pick of a good snake will sell faster than a good pick of a great snake IMO.

This. I got a screaming deal on a pewter female a few years ago because she must have been in shed for her ad picture and the lighting was so bad she looked like a weird cinny, not a nice pewter. When I got her out of the box I thought I'd been sent the wrong snake.

Thanks everyone. I just took the photos on my boyfriend's Iphone. Used to have a nice camera but it broke. ): But yeah, after helping my mother sell her Dane puppies for years and taking all the photos for her growing up, I firmly believe that an eye catching photo really helps sell your stuff more often than not. What I REALLY want to do is take some of those photos where the snake is on a mirror with the black background, those pictures look awesome. I wish I had the equipment/knew how to do it!

    Something like this -

Definitely price the animals based on what you feel they are worth, but don't wander too far away from realistic prices. You absolutely have great looking hatchlings, but with the myriad of breeders out there, you will have a hard time selling them if you don't stay within the ballpark of other sellers.

When I am selling at expos, I routinely see breeders failing to make deals when they only had to come down 20$ or so on price. I am more than happy to knock 10% off if it means I come home having sold a significant amount of the animals I brought with me.
