thermostat not heating up uth
I have a habistat thermostat. It's hooked up to my uth. The temperature however, is steadily dropping, and is now at 84.7. Thats too cold for a basking spot!!! What do I do? Its a ball python enclosure that I'm heating.

And where do you have the probe placed?
Re: thermostat not heating up uth
The dial is set between 88 and 92, so about 90°.
Re: thermostat not heating up uth
The probe is taped to my uth. Tape is not covering the probe though, I only taped the cable. It is in the middle of my uth, on the outside, not between the glass and uth.
Re: thermostat not heating up uth
I don't know how to get the probe inside the enclosure without drilling a hole in the screen lid. The probe cord is pretty thick

Probes DO NOT go inside for too many reasons including being moved and cooled by liquids.

where are you measuring your hot side temperature? You should not measure on top of the coco but under everything on the glass where your snake could actually burrow to. Also how thick is your coco?
