Packin' on the pounds...er...grams

Well, it was the usual 2-3 days rest after feeding friday, so tonight I was all excited to hold Pelota for a bit. I go in to lift her hide up, and my first response was "whoa". She's gotten so much fatter since Friday already. Two rats, and she's packing on the grams. I took her out, and could tell she was heavier. I quickly weighed her, and she roughly weighs 240 grams. Before her first two rats, when she was still on those dinky adult mice, she was 160 grams. She seems to literally have had a growth spurt overnight, lol. I was all excited over the sudden growth, so I hooked up our horribly blurry webcam to snap a few pics. I'll post a few of the least horrible ones, lol.

A pic of one of her many "bullseyes". They get whiter and clearer as she grows. Can't wait to see what they'll turn out like when she's full grown.

I sooooooo can't wait until I get that digital camera from Santa.:twisted: I've missed so many good pic opportunities. And the quality of our webcam isn't cutting it at all, lol.

Pelota is a very cute snake :)

For some reason i thought she was bigger, in your banner (or whatever you call that thing) she just looks like a bigger snake, i would have guessed at least 3 feet. The one in the middle looke smaller though.BTW i love that banner, its very nice.

Ya, most people get confused. I should've labeled it in the banner. The left snake is Pelota's father, Chocolate. And the right snake is Pelota's Mommy, Pumpkin. The middle is Pelota when she was like 2 months old.
It's cool. I have a bunch of pics of Pelota and her family. Pics of her mom, dad, other siblings. Pics of her and her siblings in the eggs with Pumpkin coiled around them. Pics of her hatching out of her egg...etc...My breeder is great. Can't wait till those gravid boas of hers give birth. If all her snakes are like Pelota, that'll be one sweet and easy going boa. :twisted:

That's really neat cody, I always thought the snakes in your banner were all pictures of Pelota. She's gotten a bit bigger, but I think Tweety and Frosty are still too big for her to eat though.. :P

Besides, you'd have to make sure Frosty was fully thawed.and then what would you have leftover? :lol:

Haha, oops...I put 240 in my post. She's 270 grams. 240 is what she was before the last rat I think. I'm sure she'll be a bit lighter within the coming days once she passes the extra weight in the poop she's carrying. Knowing her, she's probably waiting until I hold her for a while, so she can leave her trademark presents on me. :o

Yeah, she's only done it in her cage twice, and on me 3 times. Oh, and my sister once. Good ol' Pelota....gotta love her view of the world; "Oooh, a porta-potty"

lol, i think mines potty trained.

i was holding my bp for aboue 30 mins, i put her in the cage and i went to the bathroom came back and she pooped. -_- lucky me? or potty trained? lol

Maybe neither. I think I've heard that bp's go where they feel comfortable and relaxed. Your bp might have just held it until she went into her comfy safe cage, and let it loose. Apparently my bp really feels comfy and relaxed when I have her out, because currently it's Cage-2 Me-3. lol :)
